Am 26, I'm a huge PTV fan, I didnt like it at first. It's not a good PTV album but it is a really good album if that makes sense. It's definitely their weakest album but it doesnt it's bad. Personally I wanted more songs like Pass the Nirvana, but we got a lot of soft songs. And those soft songs are really really good. Some of the best songs are Resilience, Jaws of Life and Damn the Man. I just missed so much from the new album. I missed the epic intro into the first song. I miss the Mexicore feelings. It had none of that in their newest album. Like I said, it's a bad PTV album but it's still a really good album.

@@raymephisto9497 no one told you not to like the new album. saying the band "grew up" completely alienates the fanbase who came for post hard core music that they established themselves in making. if u like PHC but your fav PHC band suddenly went mellow grunge pop, u have a valid reason to criticize. artists are allowed to change direction for sure, but fans are not required to follow that direction and i dont think they should be implied to still be young and edgy when people of all ages enjoy all kinds of genres. dont get me wrong i like the album too, but i dont think they "grew up" just because we did. the new album's lyrics still come off as corny, dramatic teenage-y, if my only criticism being some songs are simple and repetitive and a bit generic. a big trade off over the exiting, unique and iconic sound they once had

a lot of their fans grew up listening to them in MIDDLE school, but the majority of the people who supported them commercial-wise were high schoolers and so on, so i think a lot of their older music becoming relevant again was mainly due to a bunch of people in their 20s now revisiting their past music (like how mcr toured again which gave their now mainly 20s fanbase a chance to see them live) personally i love jaws of life mainly due to the fact that i understand that they're way older now, as people they've experienced more and grown more and even are knee deep in families. a lot of people like to stick with what they know so they tend to reject any changes to something they once held dear to themselves. it's def mixed reviews but regardless their fans will support them because of what they stand for and what they've done for their fans throughout the years, regardless of their age

This video was beautifully done. I discovered pierce the veil in 2013 and it has been my favorite band ever since. When TJOL came out, I was slightly disappointed because I yearned for their album to be reminiscent of selfish machines or collide with the sky, but overall very excited. After listening to it for a few weeks, I've already started loving it more. With each listen I find something small that really gives that "experimental/pierce the veil" vibe to each song, no matter how stylistically different it may be to their old music. I'm honestly impressed with them for always inserting that flair that defines them in different ways in each album, and I'll always be a fan.

The Jaws of Life is a really good album. I wasn't a massive fan of Pass the Nirvvana when it dropped, but it's solid. The rest of the album is really good and has diverse range in styles. It's honestly one of my favorite albums of the last couple years. I actually think that Misadventures was more progressive than you gave it credit for. That huge 80s aesthetic revival that included the whole vaporwave trend that's been going on, well they were early to that party. Bedless, Gold Medal Ribbon are really good examples of that. Floral and Fading was the most daring song that they done at the time. A post-Hardcore version of a 50s-60s slow dancer. Not to mention some of their best, poppiest choruses. Misadventures was an excellent cap to one of the best 4 album runs any band has ever had.

That has always been one of my favorite things about PTV; I've been listening to them for 14 years and I can still turn on A Flair for the Dramatic and find something I hadn't noticed before. Jaws of Life may not be for everyone, but personally, I feel like there was a pretty clear trajectory with their sound leading to this album. It's more grungy than you might expect, but several songs sound like "old" PTV if you give them a close listen.

Hold on til may is still one of my top 10 favorite songs ever. Plus it introduced me to Lindsey Stamey... which led me to Vertigo and Oh no! Fiasco.... which are amazing

I’ve been a fan since like 2019 and yes I haven’t been a fan for as long as others but I fell in love with them instantly. I love every single album and selfish machines being my favorite. It’s great to see them blow up in 2022. Their comeback was not disappointing. Ive been seeing many people shit on the new album and it HURTS. THE JAWS OF LIFE IS INCREDIBLE LIKE ALL OF THEIR OTHERS!

I’m in love with their new album. I’ve started listening to their older albums as I only know a few of their biggest songs and I’m not disappointed at all. Honestly, some of the music is like heart music. Everything I can’t say expressed in veiled lyricism

Honestly being an OG fan since 2011, and listening to their new album "Emergency contact" is one of my most favorite tracks of everything they have ever put out. Also on a personal level my gf was the biggest PTV fan and she had passed away beginning of 2022, and was never able to hear their new album and she was always so accepted of them wether they changed their style or whatever she'd support them to the end of the earth. I just know "emergency contact" would indeed make her ball her eyes out and she would be madly in love with it. Makes me sad she never got to hear it.

Im 13 and was about 2 when collide with the sky came out. I honestly had never heard of them before when I got my first phone. I heard of them through my sister, listening to king for a day. I discovered more of their music and realized their message. Its so beautiful. Theyve honestly helped me as a person so much. Struggling with s/h and mental and body issues, i never knew what music could do to someone until them. They deserve every good thing that comes to them. And fun fact, i share a birthday w vic and tjof came out on our birthday.

I discovered them thru tiktok. At first I thought it was cringey bcuz of the tiktoks that used their music, but it was too catchy to ignore. Now I'm obsessed with them. My favorite album has to be Collide with the sky. I just got the CD and I've been listening to it every morning before I go to work and when I drive home. It honestly comforts me and lets me release all my stress when I get to just scream my head off in the car

Awhile back you asked who your next video should be about and I just threw Pierce The Veil in there thinking it would never happen and then you had the voting and of course I voted for them also thinking the vote audience isn’t going to want this but viola there it is and I loved it and I also am in love with the new album. Yeah it’s not heavy I get it but damn the songs are good. Thank you Finn! You are the only You Tuber giving these guys their due, and believe me when I say way overdue. You’re awesome Finn!!!

I learned about PTV when I was 15 through a girl I was trying to date. I fell in love with the band instantly and I would say they were my favorite band and led me to my second favorite a day to remember. I’m 27 now and when jaws of life released I listened to that album on a loop for 3 days I feel it’s certainly some of their best work.

idk about yall but I’ve been with PTV since the cover days and the Mega Band. I didn’t get to see them until I was 15 in San Jose. Then they just kept coming ! Finally met them at the world tour SF Meet n greet to show them my ptv tattoos. Those guys are down to earth and everything you’d expect. 5 albums in and I still love them.

I knew listening to it some people wouldn't like it but I didn't care cause I liked it.
