They're still often referred to as Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korea, BTS has always just been the shortened version, so there was never really a change that happened, although they did seem to start saying BTS more often in Korea after their international fanbase really exploded. But yeah, they've always been called both depending on the country (they also have different names in Japan and China)!

The reason Jin was crying was because the mic pack he was wearing was heavy and pulled his pants down in their debut performance. I guess when they were merely rehearsing he didn't have a mic pack belt on him, so this was totally unexpected and naturally very humiliating. Jin still doesn't like anyone to mention it; says he has erased it from his memory.

oh bts still do fan meets, the only reason they stopped is because of covid, but for mots7 activities they definitely had fan meets planned but had to cancel them, they have tons of security and fans arent allowed to give any gifts besides stuff they could wear like bunny ears for just the meet and i dont think they keep them, they hold hands and high five fans and i think a fan once asked jungkook to arm wrestle her, where he pretended to lose a bit before beating her very easily lmao youre also the first person ive heard who mentioned the wrestling industry comparison, tho from what little i know i agree with you

V being a surprise member revealed only during debut was more of a marketing strategy to drum up some more buzz even after their debut. To give fans something more to talk about and be excited about (I just roll my eyes on anyone who gives the very misinformed reason that it is to hide him away from being pirated by other companies 🙄)

Bro!!! I just commented on chapter one a couple minutes ago!!! I'm so excited that you are doing another chapter so quickly!!!!!!!! This makes my day! 😁💜 Im editing to add as I watch: You gotta remember that most were minors and those who weren't, they were still barely into their twenties. Kids take criticism like what they got much worse than adults who can logically rationalize it. Especially kids who are under so much pressure. Imagine their emotional struggles. Especially for members like Suga who suffers from depression, RM who struggles with anxiety and self-esteem, Jimin who has issues with his self image and has a perfectionist attitude. Jhope who lives to make others smile and happy, how it must have felt to get such hate in return. V keeps everything he feels hidden, but you can imagine he felt the same hurt. Jungkook who hurts when his brothers hurt. And Jin who is the oldest and probably felt a need to protect his younger members. He may not have been the leader (poor RM probably felt the most pressure) but I imagine he felt the same sort of pressure concerning his own position on the team and the criticism he recieved personally. That he might be letting the others down. I'm writing an essay, but the point is, I can't imagine how sad they were not to be liked. I mean I'm sure they knew it wouldn't be all unicorns and rainbows, but they were still kids and probably hoped otherwise. Okay I'm done! Lol sorry I was venting not at you, but at the people who criticized children back then 😅 Also, the dude explaining things you asked about on stage is Bang Si-hyuk, he is the CEO of Big Hit (he resigned this past year to focus on music production) and he is the current chairman of the board for Hybe. He is a great guy! Lol. Your comment on Jungkook, while I do agree a bit because he was so young and mistakes happen (for all members), I was just waiting for you to realize it was actually all preparation/acting for their birthday surprise. 28:15 That is Bang Si Hyuk (Bang PD or Hitman Bang). He is the founder of BigHit entertainment and he is the man who put together BTS! He started his career as a songwriter, producer at JYP entertainment but left to start his own company Big Hit in 2005. When BigHit went IPO in 2020, he gave all the guys his personal shares of the company. He is now the 16th riches man in South Korea and he recently stepped down as CEO of HYBE (BigHit's rebranded corporate name) to go back to his passion, which is music although he remains Chairman of the Board. He was a speaker at some event in 2018 which he spoke about the source of BTS' success. The point that Jimin was making is his friends didn't know because their performances would get cut. So I know that they have intimate fan meetings still, but since the pandemic it's been virtual. Like 200 ARMY's on a video call. Also, they had fan meetings like this in South Korea and Japan (I don't know for sure) up until the pandemic. It was a lottery system. You apply for it, and then you would be notified if you were one of the lucky ARMY's that was able to attend the event. The last one I know of was in 2021, and it was a pajama party video call, where they talked to the ARMY's and answered questions. 28:40 - Hitman Bang is the CEO of Big Hit Entertainment, and it was his vision to put together BTS. He is their "Boss" and Big Hit is His Company (Now called HYBE, and Big Hit Music is a subsidiary of HYBE). He put the guys together and supports them and encouraged them. They are very close, like family. I think this is a community business meeting about BTS. I really don't know the context of it.

They still do though, they come on vlives even after the Grammys did 2hr vlives which diff members for several days. We also get bangtan bombs of their behind scenes all the time, we just dont have time to keep up honestly😭 They also release logs of members thoughts. And for the mixtape its coming alright! We might soon get RM3 new ones from Jhope and Taehyung this year along with the new album! Also BTS had the only freshest comcept when they debuted they were talking abt real things like mental health of the students, the oppressive educational system of south korea? Other idol grps were singing abt going on dates with girls lol. All this hate was only becs they were from a smaller co, that their clothes were not “branded” or expensive like from the idols, that they were actually singing abt things that mattered is what got them hate. Not evn one rookie idol these days would have the courage to debut with an important concept like BTS.

Tbh this concept of students might be outdated in the sense that it's been used a lot, but that doesn't make it less relevant. Sure, as an adult you realise that complying with the system is the way to be succesfull, but I think that's not what's being criticised. It's not like young people don't want to comply with the system on principle, it's that they see how messed up the school system still is in South Korea and other coutries as well obviously (in Rise of Bangtan 3 it's explained why). So I think if the system were to change to idk promote ppl following their dreams, following the system wouldn't be an issue for so many young people
