One thing not many people know but there is a group called “infinite” and that group was becoming bigger and bigger and it was rivalling to SM’s group EXO so the company SM, brought Infinite from their company and then proceeded to do nothing. They give them nothing to do. They are not allowed to be in tv, nothing. Soon, Infinite popularity dropped and people forgot about them. Which is disgusting. Nothing against exo but the tactics of some of the big three is disgusting. And when BTS was getting big, tons and tons of companies wanted to buy BTS from their label and this could totally happened because bighit was a very small company back then. The actors you see in bts music videos, the cars, were the staff. They couldn’t get enough money and Bighit was in the verge of bankruptcy and should selling BTS out is a big possibility but thankfully Band PD didn’t sell them out because this would ruin their whole career. Bts would have their dreams crushed and destroyed and look at them now. And why BTS is so different is because the “rule” if there is much for bts is so much lesser compared to groups in the big three or other companies BTS was able to write their own lyrics BTS still this day is the strongest groups who write their own lyrics because around 88-90 percent of groups dont and they talk about mental health like RM, Suga openly revealing they have depression and suga said depression is something that never goes away it comes and goes but there is ways to try to be better and you can just see how personal they are for their lyrics tackling many topics that is taboo in korea. And I’m not sure if you noticed, after BTS exploded tons of other artist also started to write their own lyrics but the number is low and before bts, there were other groups like bap but most groups dont have some strong story telling as BTS have the BU and stories, novels, game for them and it is very deep but now we have other groups that also started to put stories into their music video etc.

hello! just wanted to correct something, yes woolim did merge with sm's sub label (sm c&c) but they were still their own company and sm themselves did not manage them bc sm did not bring infinite themselves to sm(woolim : an independent record label whose music would be different from SM Entertainment's sounds as they said), woolimhas not always been the best company and they suck at promoting their artists well, even infinite themselves were shading them lol(not saying big ent. companies are innocent but just wanted to point this out)

Being the middle tier in popularity is worse because when you're not famous, there's no reason for you to work yourself to death anymore and when you're famous, even the smallest of efforts guarantees results. But when you're half famous (as BTS was that time), you can work yourself to death and still get nothing. Remember when Yoongi said "It was the first time I realized effort doesn't guarantee success"? 😭 Because BTS is at the top now, the results of their hard work come easier than before, especially because ARMYs continue to promote them every chance we get.

It's funny that Bighit aka Hybe is now bigger than the Big 3 companys[SM,JYP,YG] combined 1,HYBE Net Worth-10+ billion dollars[90% Income BTS ONLY] 2,JYP Net Worth-1.2 Billion Dollars 3,SM Entertainment 969 Million Dollars 4,YG Entertainment-850 Million Dollars Meaning BTS is 10 times bigger than each of the big 3 companies and 3 times bigger than them when combined. So if you combined the Big 3 companies together they are worth around 3.5 billion dollars while Bighit is 10+ billion dollars because of BTS and the support of Army towards BTS,BTS brings in over 5+ billion dollars every year into Korea's income crazy and they're still discriminating them even though they are the one who has increased korea popularity and reputation by 500%, and they are the main reason foreigners and a lot of kpop fans want to visit korea and they also made kpop international and more accessible to the public outside korea especially the west or American music industry.

This is a really good episode, one of my favs. Though honestly, so many of the episodes from ep 10 on are some of my favs too. Just as an aside, it was really hard to watch this one because of the eating and chewing in the mic. I know some people aren’t bothered by it and you gotta eat when you have the chance. AndI know that you’re already way past this episode by the time I’m commenting, but in future episodes (if you haven’t already), please eat further from the mic. 💜💜
