I spent about $700 dollars at the Airplane Shop in Las Vegas. The models were absolutely fantastic! No broken models from what I picked, and the only broken models were like from 2-3 years ago! Gemini Jets now has so much better quality! Great job! Keep it up GJ!

I'm rather confused with this video, if I'm being completely honest. I can agree with some of what you said, such as improved release variety since 2020. Quality control has improved slightly as well, but not to an acceptable degree in my opinion. In 2024, I saw and received several broken/damaged Gemini Jets models. I also handled several models from Gemini Jets with poor paint application, printing, and assembly (high wing flex was a big one). We've seen a few new moulds/toolings introduced recently as well, but those have their issues too. The 1/400 767-400 mould was a nice surprise, but it needs improvement. A lot of Gemini's current moulds need updates in order to stay competitive as well. Other brands have taken advantage with better moulds and quality, and Gemini Jets has not responded in kind. Gemini Jets is a solid company, and I like some of their products, but they also have a long way to go in terms of improvement. They are on a rise, but not a significant one. One more thing that was completely unmentioned was their customer service. That (to my knowledge) has not improved at all. They don't accept negative feedback, they don't make changes based on feedback, and they block people who try to report problems with their products. Other manufacturers are a lot more accepting and transparent in that regard. With the way this video was worded, I'm struggling to believe that this wasn't part of a promotion of some sort. Some of the praise was valid, but I think this video overlooked a lot of Gemini's problems too. Edit: typos

Regarding your last point on customer service, I have heard absolutely nothing about people getting blocked in the last several years, so I feel like you’re hitting on a rather irrelevant issue. Plus when you consider their releases from 2024 and compare it to 2020, it’s safe to logically conclude that they listened to customer feedback and changed their release strategies. (Side note: I also believe that COVID had a reason for some of the poor releases at that time).
@rpgiv317511 күн бұрын
@@JJ_Skippy Hence why I said "to my knowledge." My friend and I were blocked in 2021. A collector I talked to at AI 2022 was blocked as well. We can't be the only isolated cases either. With regards to releases, I said I agreed that Gemini Jets improved their releases. Whether or not that was the cause of customer feedback is anyone's guess. What GJ hasn't changed is their assembly quality and moulds. Like I said, a lot of their moulds need updating, and people have been asking for years. I understand it's a completely different issue to change a mould, but some of them should have been fixed by now. Whatever the cause of the issues I mentioned, they're still issues experienced by us customers. An explanation/justification of a problem does not solve it.
@JJ_Skippy11 күн бұрын
@@rpgiv3175 I’m still pretty confident it was customer feedback that influenced the change in release choices. I recall some of your posts about Gemini Jets several years back. When I was blocked by them on what used to be Twitter in 2019, it was quite unclear as to what I had done at the time; however, based on other experiences that I’ve looked into later on, I can only imagine some of the comments that were made by people that got blocked were either non-constructive or just plain rude. While I’m not using it as an excuse to justify this, at the same time you have to consider how many negative comments they were receiving back then due to their low quality at the time. They probably got fed up with it and decided to block the ones who were making the more egregious comments. Again, not justifying their decision to block people, nor saying that it was your case, but it’s a general possibility. With a company like this in a niche hobby though, respect is a two-way street, so others that got blocked by GJ were probably being quite rude to them… Regarding moulds, I agree with you. I want them to be updated again too to fix the glaring issues. But I think there’s one big problem standing in the way and that’s the customer base; I imagine there are a lot of people who only buy Gemini Jets, whether it’s because of brand recognition or it’s genuinely the only brand they know of. So sometimes there’s no incentive for them to update moulds if they’re already making sales with the existing product. It’s unfortunate yes, but knowing your standards and where they stand compared to an average collector you just gotta continue voting with your wallet and not buy their products. Side note: I’ve only gotten one broken GJ new release since 2022, so I’d still argue assembly has gotten way better in the last several years, since I’ve generally heard far less complaints about broken GJs; with that said, either I’m very lucky with getting intact GJs or you’re very unlucky and are finding the broken ones often.

It sounded like you were praising GJ for the Delta Connection CRJ-900. While I can agree that they finally released something the collectorate wanted, they F'd it up royally AND when they released it again with a different registration number, it was still on the same screwed up model with the screwed-up landing gear and horizonal stabilizers. Even the American CRJ-900 hadn't been rectified which came out several months later. We continue getting models with ridiculous wingflex, especially the 737 NGs and even some Maxes with the Avelo 737 as a main example but far from the exception. I do have to agree with the new moulds, not including the 767-400 which appears to just be a lazy attempt. The E2 are exceptional. They are so good that I justify buying them even though most of the airlines that fly them I will never see.

Gemini Jets 767-400 isn't 'high quality' it is demonstrably rubbish. Nothing has changed at GJ - they are producing exactly the same models as always on pretty much the same moulds as always and most of what they are making is fairly ordinary. The new E2 Jets are good but the 767-400 and 737-600 were awful. Their A320s/321s and 737NGs remain very weak and their A330, A350 are ordinary too. The only moulds common moulds that are top quality are the 777s, 787s, 747 interactives, 747-400 and a couple of regionals and you can thank JC Wings for those. As for what they make if you love the same airlines every month then great, but if you buy more than a handful of US and EU airlines you're bang out of luck. Anyone who thinks GJ are near the top in 400 scale is dreaming. I would comfortably put NG Models, Aviation400, Panda Models and Phoenix way ahead of them and JC Wings is doing better too.
