It’s not a coincidence that all these liberal left leaning countries, I’m talking about the ones in Scandinavia in particular are suddenly becoming far-right. We have a perfect storm brewing; both man made. One - the global capitalist model has been hijacked by neo-liberalism and its race to the bottom which is driving down wages, widening the gap between rich and poor and turbo charging imported migrant labour. As consumers, we are part of the problem but this is the economic paradigm we find ourselves in. Two - the climate crisis is already starting to displace populations in the Global South. This is going to get *much* worse as our biosphere heats up. There are going to be tens of millions of people on the move as we approach mid century.
