My wife has been using Regener-Eyes as prescribed by her eye /Doctor. It seems to help and . . . she recently had a bad irritation in her right eye. It took some Rx drops to reduce the irritation. So . . . the question is . . . if she stops using the Regener-Eyes what is a good over-the-counter eye drops that is safe and not break-the-bank expensive. Thanks for what you are doing to make the world a safer place to live.

Consumer experience reports are an essential part of how the system works. www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/index.cfm?action=consumer.reporting1 We would also recommend making sure her eye doctor is aware of the FDA Public Safety Notification about Regenereyes. Many aren't, and just take the company at its own word. They have a years-long, well documented history of lying to doctors. www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/safety-availability-biologics/public-safety-notification-amniotic-fluid-eyedrops Regarding over-the-counter drop alternatives: People vary a lot in their OTC eye drop tolerances and preferences. Some of the ones our community tends to favor for severe dry eye symptoms include Oasis Tears Plus, FreshKote, and Optase brand (such as Optase Dry Eye Intense). Ivizia gel is also quite good.

Hi Rebecca. I have read your website/forum for years with gratitude and interest. I asked these questions below on Dr. Brown's video, but I wondered what your take was?: Thanks for great info! What about the CVS or Walgreen brands of eye drops that you can buy in the store? I have used these generics for Refresh Plus or Alaway without problems in the past. They do have single use vials. I have an unopened value size of 70 by the CVS brand. Also, should we avoid brand names sold and shipped by Amazon itself? Ugh...

Just replied on the other one, with a link - www.eyedropsafety.org/qa-with-dr-brown We do NOT have any specific reason to believe that CVS or Walgreen brands are implicated in any specific safety issues right now. However, I do believe it is possible that drugstore brand artificial tears are produced at that facility, and according to the news last night, there is a block on imports from that company in place since early January this year - I'm trying to confirm more details.
