Very good job of painting a verbal picture of both experiences!

I'm glad it helped as I've been asked quite often what I think about both places so thought I would do a video on it. They're my personal experiences but I hope it was beneficial. Thanks for watching!

As I expected the experience at the Paris Ritz was better. It does not surprise me. Although I have never been to the Paris Ritz I know fairly well the mindset and the manners of the French people, who, in general, are very polite and well-bred. To speak loudly anywhere is very much frowned upon. An old friend of mine who was very well educated and who had travelled extensively told me 40 years ago: "How ironic, the French, who destroyed the old aristocratic order, absorbed and kept, under a republican system, the values and manners of the nobility; the English have gone the opposite way, they became Americanized in the worst possible sense". This came from a man who, like me, appreciated and admired many traits of the old English character and culture. Thank you very much for this impeccable and detailed "report". All the best. Claudio

Thanks for watching. Yep I agree it’s great to have positive experiences and the majority of the time it’s lovely. I think it’s important to also be transparent on my channel about my not so positive experiences too when I go to the places. Thanks for the support and have a lovely weekend! 🤗

Paris Ritz sounds a much better bet for an enjoyable afternoon tea than London thank you for sharing. Look forward to your next video.

Thank you for the video which I enjoyed. Ritz London is a traditional British afternoon tea. Ritz Paris is a high tea in a coffee-cafe environment. Both lovely. Personally I prefer the traditional every time!! I'm sorry you felt squashed in the corner and absolutely understand your concerns. I think I would be upset if it happened to me which fortunately it hasn't. Regards.

Thanks for watching the video. I plan to check out other Ritz locations this year. Do you have any favourite Ritz locations you enjoy visiting? 🤗

@@josatkin hi. I've wanted to revisit Bali. The Ritz retreat in Bali is apparently a great place although I've not been and didn't know existed. If only I'd known!! Perhaps it's new? Can you do that as an afternoon tea? In answer to your question though, no my visits to London Ritz are my sum knowledge. I compare to other hotels in general. Does New Zealand have a Ritz hotel? Regards.

Solo diners often get poor service in restaurants. It shouldn’t be that way, as you’re still paying for the experience. I really appreciate your detailed review.

I’m glad it was useful. I also understand it’s just the experience I had and others may have totally different moments but it’s important to me to be honest about going to venues for afternoon tea. Thanks for watching! 🤗

Dear Joscelyn: I was quite surprised and very much annoyed by what you told us. I have never been a person who could be described as "very well-off", however, I do appreciate beautiful things and places and I would gladly pay for them as long as the service and the goods provided match the prices and the reputation of the place. I think the way they treated you was really shameful. Another unpleasant aspect that you mentioned is the lack of privacy and the noise due to the greed of the management bent on squeezing as many people as possible. Other visitors voiced the same complaint, therefore, it was not a one-off. Regards. Claudio

Poor service is not ok. Most places with bottomless menus give you a nice box to take goodies home with you. I would have complained. Service is incredibly important; it's all about the experience. My cousin and I love afternoon tea in and around Toronto and have been to the best. And never had a not great experience.

The funny thing was I was able to have my box of leftover scones and but for some odd reason they said no, even though they totally forgot me in the first place. I was quite surprised tbh. Where in Toronto do you have afternoon tea? I was in Toronto in 2018.

@@josatkin The very best place to have afternoon tea in Toronto is the Windsor Arms, a very swank hotel in Yorkville. They feature mismatched teapots and teacups, which takes me back to the many teas I attended as a little girl (I inherited Mom's teacup collection and I have a teapot collection tho I am a coffee drinker). Another tea I've had was at the King Eddy, another downtown hotel that is very lovely. I've heard good things about tea at the Royal York and Four Seasons. There are also great tea options in nearby Niagara. The Prince of Wales at Niagara-on-the-Lake is renowned for its tea. We;ve also had Tea on Three in the small village of Wainfleet and at Pie Guys in Port Colborne. The latter teas are held periodically in a local nakery and are often a fundraiser,,
