I’m really enjoying these videos and I hope you keep making them. I recently just started playing guitar and I feel like I might have gotten myself into deep water without knowing it lol. I bought a guitar that I’ve always wanted which was the Jackson js32 king v which has a Floyd rose and had no idea the maintenance or knowledge that I would need to know to keep up a guitar like that haha.

Where was you (and the internet) when I was younger? LOL. I'm a 43 y/o self taught guitarist. My only tab book was Metallica's Black Album that I had to sneak in the house. The downside to not having a teacher is that the onus of discipline is on you. I did good from 16 to around about 23. I learned pieces of more songs than I can remember, yet never stuck to just one song. At some point a decade ago, I found my self lacking desire to play (about the same time I lost the desire to draw). I have no idea what happened. Just started back playing again. Not looking to play in a band or to gigging. Hopefully, this time I'll stay with it for a good long while.

Yeah I remember watching endless video tapes I bought at the local music shop and buying books in the late 90s and early 2000s. KZbin definitely would have helped us. Lol. I was always really bad at learning full songs. I never had interest in being in a cover band so I never bothered. I would focus on what I wanted to learn to help my technique and express myself. It’s funny you mentioned it because I’m going to start a new series going over this topic. I hope you find the will to keep on playing. Guitar is a magical instrument that allows us to hit notes that almost every other instrument can’t. Full expression and release. Therapeutic to me. I’m going to start uploading again soon. The past couple years have been rocky as hell health wise for me. Hopefully I’ve pulled out of this. Keep shredding 🤘🤘

I always play Vs, so I use the classical position. Makes it easier to stretch my small-ass fingers. 😂 Hope you're doing good, Stu. 👍

Lmao, I swear I'll get some decent content up soon. Kinda bummed out KZbin is suppressing my videos, getting barely any views anymore, lol.

Bro show me how to make the kinda money that allows me to buy any guitar I want. Why not buy an ESP 7, or Ibanez 7. Or get a Jackson Rob Cavestany signature, or a Dave Davidson Custom 7 or an Ibanez 7 Dino signature or an ibanez universe?

I wish I had the money to buy any guitar I wanted. I'm also guessing you want me to get a 7 string? haha. I am looking into it. I used to have a couple 8 string guitars and I loved it. I wrote a lot of cool shit with extended range guitars and can't wait to get back into it.
