Great job pulling that little bis outa that tight spot! You know it's bad then Big Red is needed and you know it's really bad when Big Red gets pulled backwards! 😂 If they don't already have them then the city needs to put up Giant signs saying no buses or tractor trailers! But then again those guys always know the right way to go, no GPS needed for them! 😅😅😅 Thanks for letting us Tow Along with ya! Can't wait for the hour long special Kendra, keepem coming!

Great job Jeff & Kristen! Something needs to be posted, "No tour buses beyond this point" or "No tour buses this road" that also shows up on GPS. And as you can see, certain areas are no match even for seasoned bus drivers. What an ordeal for the bus and its occupants. Anyway, successful rescue again by the Everything Auto Team!

A piece of knowledge for you in the future. 90% of those buses have a Raise feature which will lift the bus 4 to 6 inches higher than normal which in this case would have lowered the wheels and helped you with the traction when getting off that hill. So next time tell the driver to raise the bus and it will help you a lot.

I like the comments from all the internet experts that have never driven a motorcoach. These vehicles set low to the ground for their 45 foot length. When groups rent a bus, one of the first question the company will ask is, "can a bus get to that location?" The person will usually say oh yes, been there before." I drive tour buses, and I can bet that the driver asked the group leader again, if buses have been up that road. Most likely the tour leader said, "Oh yes. I bring groups up here to a cabin all of the time." Then after the driver gets stuck, the group leader will say, "well come to think of it they were church buses we brought here in the past.'

Even so, you would think that the bus company would verify with the business first. I realize those not from the area probably don't know what it's like, but not all companies can accommodate buses that size. Ober's website is a bit of a mess though. The FAQs section has a link to a "Getting Here" page that doesn't even work and the "groups" page just redirects you to a picture rather than having any useful content
@ReadTheShrill

There's absolutely no excuse for that when Google's Street View car has been all the way to the mountain. The company could have taken 20 minutes to virtually verify the route before agreeing to take a bus up there, and saved themselves thousands in winching fees and refunds.

Jeff and Kristen, I would be afraid to drive that road in a normal car/SUV. Of course, I've never driven a bus, nor do I want to do so! LOL! I know I wouldn't have made it, not 10 years ago and definitely not now. My vision is just not good enough to drive, so I took myself from behind the wheel more than 6 years ago. Driving is a privilege, not a right, and I wouldn't be able to live with the guilt of causing an accident that resulted in injuries, or worse, the death of other(s), a family member or myself. May God bless you and yours always and keep you safe. It's been a long time since we've had so many storms and tornadoes. Be careful out there1 Love your channel and the way you both handle yourselves with your responses to other folks.

I would hope that any bus driver, seasoned or not, would do their homework / research and then they would have known NOT todo that. If I owned a tour bus company and a driver did what this one did he would likely not work for us any longer. Uncalled for. When we take the youth of our church on trips (we usually have 150+, + adults) we plan out the trip with 15 passenger vans. With smaller groups we have taken a charter bus or two and our drivers would not have done this. We have even driven the route a week before if we have never been there before. Most "Accidents" could be avoided. You did a Great job! We need more videos! PLEASE!!!

@@ronjohnson9032 Maybe getting stuck was part of the experience. The thrill of getting stuck/unstuck would tend to heighten the feeling of danger which is the only reason anyone would go to that area in the first place. It's called living dangerously. Renting a cabin that is hanging over the edge of a shear drop and trying to get your car and yourself to it are for those seeking thrills.

Gosh, that became a situation of who is pulling who. GPS is not your friend in all areas. Here in WV, we have tractor trailers stuck all the time in places they should not be. Use that GPS before you get into rural & mountain like areas because once in the areas, it can mislead you. Years ago, we went to a Christmas store that was a year round decorated shop but our GPS took us to someone's farm saying their mud driveway was the road to get there & it dead ended there, we almost got stuck. It had us nowhere near the place we was trying to get to.

Years ago I was in Rapid City and had a day to kill before my delivery. I was going to rent a car and then I got an idea, let Grayline drive. So I took the tour. The day before the biker rally had finished but there was a lot of bikers still around. Going from the road at Windy Cave the bus had to use all the road in the curves. Since I was a driver and was setting behind the driver I was spotting for him as he went into the curves. On one there was 4 motorcycles and they had to wait while he finished going through the curve. He asked if they looked mad? Nope but they voted him Number One. He got a laugh out of that.

My Oh My! Another doozy of a recovery! I really hope that the operator of the bus and its company are fined. I know he’s experienced. However I would have used better judgment on this navigation. Also…I would hope by now that Gatlinburg, Tennessee would start to put restrictions on large vehicles traveling on certain roads specifically large vehicles and buses. I used to see the stuff happening all the time up here in upstate New York as I was a Towing and Recovery operator for many years. So my operator of buses just don’t learn their lesson until it’s too late. There have been way too many incidents of fatalities and modern incident but the worst of all is when you deal with fatalities and it comes from an experience. That sign on the bus that says “experience! Excellence” is a complete joke. That company needs to do better. Great job and great recovery as always Jeff and Kristen. But i seriously hope that the road restrictions will be enforced more at least for the safety of other drivers and you as well!

Those buses should use the same routes as big trucks because most back roads aren't big enough for them. Every time a big truck tries to go up or down the gorge road in NC they always end up hitting rocks hanging over the road and get stuck or end up rolling over. Nothing worse than trying to get home on Friday evening and having to wait hours because a tractor trailer rolled over and lost its load. What's really sad is that even though it's posted there'll be at least four or five drivers every summer that have to learn the hard way.
