Thanks guys, I really appreciate it and love the Podcast. I think you guys are to blame for putting the idea in my head 6 or so years ago.

I live in California and it's STILL expensive. That said YOLO. It's the experiences that make life worth living.

Yes very true and I forgot to hammer that point!

Good stuff here. Also an older athlete (54) training for my first LV 100 MTB. Good luck to you!

I can't believe the pace people are keeping at these events. I did a 100 mile, 3000m event a few years ago at no elevation and it took me 14hrs and I thought I was pretty fit. The idea non-pros can do this in under 9 hours is mind blowing. I need to train harder! I'm doing it again in 3.5 months 😅

Good luck with the race. I know right! There are some fast people out there that have good physiology. Good on them, we have to just ride our own race.

Great update Jason! Sleep is not something I've actually considered as a part of my "training". I naturally sleep pretty well, but there may be some stats & metrics in there that could give me insight into how stuff is goiing. Well done. Thx

Thanks and lucky you on the sleep. I sleep ok but I do find that if I don’t my training suffers a little. I will try to touch on the small things I do to try to make it better.

Awesome. And yeah, doing races in the US is expensive, but oh so worth it. Have fun.
@jaselikesbikes9 ай бұрын
Agreed expensive but woth it for the experience. I did the BC Bike race last year and i was about the same price but 7 days worth of fun.

Hey Jason. Same TR AI FTP and half a kilo heavier for me this week. This year I'm going to try to max out my training volume, so actually using HRV data as one of a few points of data see whether I'm overreaching, in addition to trying to max out on sleep. Due to the weather in the US, I've been relying on indoor training, especially Kickr Climb to get my muscles adapted to firing off earlier in the stroke (I think), in addition to using the easiest gear with the lowest flywheel effect to simulate climbing. Great update and looking forward to your next vid!

Thanks, yes I am lucky with the weather at the moment although it will be a different story in a few months, youy can ride here year round though. Yes I need to step it up with the hill work and need to get onto that.

Good one Jase, thanks! I'm trying to figure out otb nutrition now, trying some different products to see what works best. So far I only know what doesn't.

Well that is a good start Dave. Still plenty of time before race day... although I bet it goes quick!

Where in Leadville did you get such cheap accommodation
@jaselikesbikes8 ай бұрын
Luck! As soon as I received the lottery email I went on line to look for a place and the only one I found was about 3000USD for 3 or 4 nights. I went back on the site 2 days later and looked again and the accommodation I booked became available. I guess someone had the right idea and booked last year before the lottery announcement and cancelled when they didn't get in.
