I’m just gonna say it. Survivor has had nothing but good to great seasons since WAW. 41 and 43 were a bit clunky, sure, but I was hooked and entertained with every single episode since 2021. Watching this video was a nice trip down memory lane, and thanks Peridiam for providing insightful (and non-toxic) content for several years now!❤

Can we all just acknowledge that a jury will never again be more ecstatic than they were for Maryanne's win? Her dominant final tribal and overall gameplay speaks so much greater volumes that her win also made the jury feel like it was their win too.

The trend with the New Era winners is that having good social games is where the jury has been voting. Dee is the only one of these 5 who seems to have won based on dominating the strategy. Given the direction of where the 46 finale seems to be going with either Kenzie or Charlie, the pattern is likely gonna continue

Probably moreso due to the biggest strategists getting cut at the end and not because of anything to do with the jury. Shan/ricard we’re cut before FTC, Omar was cut before FTC, Jesse was cut before FTC, Karson was cut before FTC. Dee is the only strategist that won because Dee is the only strategist that made it to the end. Kenzie and Charlie have both shown some solid strategic chops in addition to their strong social game, but this season hasn’t really had any big strategists in general (Maria and Q arguably but, like, what impressive moves did they pull off aside from gaslighting people with idols? Charlie and Maria have been in a dominant position since the Tevin vote and nobody has really done much to change the status quo, at least until last week)

Erika is really the only player with “big moves” on her resume, Maryanne made her first move at final 6 with an idol in her pocket, Gabler’s only move was at the final 13, and Yam Yam & Dee were power players who rode the majority well Social play has proven to be the best kinda play since like season 35

Ricard wanted to target Deshawn instead of Danny, but Erika correctly and wisely saw that Danny was a bigger jury threat and pushed for Danny to go instead. That was another great play by Erika

Gabler's story isn't the story of how he won. It's the story of how Cassidy and Jesse (and everyone else) lost.

It definitely does feel like the fall of Jesse/Cody at times. I’m not sure about Cassidy, as she had no agency in the game and as a result she had no win equity. Gabler at least was actively choosing which side he was a number for and understood what his optimal final 3 was. He was picked up by Jesse and Cody as a number because of his own merits, and I think that speaks to a level of game ability that we never see from Cassidy on the season.

People seriously disrespect Gabler as a winner. Not to say he's amazing, but he is far from stupid. His social connections were a huge key to his game and while he wasn't always that aware and had some mistakes in his reads and in general, he did end up at the final three and genuinely played better and was more likable than Cassie and Owen (well Owen was also likable but his game was much worse). An underwhelming win? Sure, but still a win.

@@2InsertNameHere Actually that's exactly what you said. Survivor is always getting new viewers - there are people out there for whom season 45 was the first season they watched. If they saw the thumbnail on this video that had 5 distinctive faces with the logos for their seasons on each one (with the season number clearly displayed) then this thumbnail would spoil the winners for those season. Most people that are new fans of the show like to go back and watch previous seasons, and they don't like to have the winners spoiled for them.

I like every new era winner (Including the one from 46) except Dee. Just something about it annoyed me. How she was almost handed the game on a silver platter by other players, who just tell her things for no gain. Somehow Austin didn't realize that Dee told Julie about there plan to vote her out despite that being the only way the plan could leak. How to this day, I can't understand why she wasn't voted out at final 5. Not to mention how she wasn't doing a good job selling her game until Emily and other jury members basically sold it for her. I'm not sure why. Just her win annoys me more than others. Erika's edit was bad but her win makes sense. Marianne came out swinging at the last quarter but damn did she make the most of it. Gabler is funny as hell as a winner (With no competition) and Jesse just couldn't win a challenge. Jam Jam was super charismatic and once Carson was taken out he won the game, despite his best efforts to help him. Dee just annoys me since it's the first time, I was angry at players in the show for how they just handed her the win. It's like if the obvious front runner of any other season was allowed to get to the end. Like if the players just let Shan, Omar, Jesse or even Carson make final 3.

Deshawn was nothing but a whiny brat all season, Shan had it right on the money when she called him out for his tantrums Legit refused to talk any more strategy at the final 11, like why even bother applying Xander did legitimately nothing all season, yeah he played an idol and extra vote but neither affected anything, Erika was the one using Ricard as a shield, Erika got Deshawn and Danny to make 1 of the worst moves in survivor history by voting out Shan too early, Erika led the charge against Danny & Liana She plays well though not as flashy as a Ben or Tony win

How to win survivor 1. Say youre going to play your shot in the dark for the first tribal you go to even though you dont have to. 2. Use palm fronds as comfy blankets to cover up your tribemates 3. Make the jury laugh Huzzah...Gabler. the Goat. My favorite winner of the new era and top 5 winners for sure. Also from my favorite season of the new era. Ps Gabler winning was obvious by final eight. So far the new era winners are boring... maybe it's just nostalgia but from the new era I like non winners more than the winners. I’m all for representing your culture and race however I’m really getting sick of all the CBS shows allowing one-sided race or sex alliances to start dominating the game because of an outside factor if it was the other way around CBS would kick every single one of them off the game. maybe for a season or two it’s OK but one sided gender or race alliances are something that shouldn’t be normal because it just ruins seasons, because all the strategy goes out the window and because there’s nothing interesting bonding the players together it makes the season so dull and the final few episodes just so boring because there’s no character showing because the only reason they got there wasn’t because of strategy but because of a predetermined factor before they even stepped foot on the island and like I said before it’s one thing to represent and make your voice heard and try out this alliance for a season or two, but when you have multiple survivor seasons in the new era every big brother season for the past five years just so boring not even to bring up the fact that if these players were to piece together, what’s going on then their pin is racist for going after the Black people even though they’re all in an alliance slowly picking everyone else off, so you just have to roll over and die because otherwise you’re going to either get kicked off the game for putting the pieces together and trying to not get voted out or you just have to roll over and die you know what’s gonna happen and there’s nothing you can do to stop it because you’re gonna be pinned as the bad guy for going after all the women or people of a certain culture In the justification for these alliances being made is like women hardly win the game or this race hardly makes it to the end or they get picked off early and I can promise you that for 90% of the players it’s not about your race or your sex it’s about your social game and your physical game which you’re in controller and if you get voted out for that it’s your mistake and you’re just trying to blame something else and for the women alliances specifically they always come together saying that they never make it foreign the game because they always get picked off well maybe that’s because when you make an alliance and don’t even try and hide it. Of course people are going to target you not because of your race but because of an alliance you were in opposes a threat to their game.

As much as I don’t really like Dee, it’s hard to deny that she played a pretty dominant game. She was well insulated within her Reba 4 alliance, and she also had numbers outside of that who were willing to turn on their other allies to benefit Dee. Her final 5 round was really bad and Katurah basically saved her by playing poorly, but aside from that I think she played one of the better games of the “new era”

Survivor 41 was the least satisfying winner since season 5. Actually Erika's win was less deserving, but season 5 zombies voting for Brian Heidik was way more annoying. All the the other new Survivor winners have been solid wins.
