Great video! Beautiful countryside, something you would have missed if you where able to take the Hwy. On my travels I always look for the backroads, more enjoyable ride plus guaranteed interesting towns & scenery. The GS will handle pretty rough terrain, your experience on different surfaces will only improve as you take on different challenges. Just take your time & enjoy. Thanks for sharing your travels.👍🇦🇺🏍️

Nice and stunning scenery indeed.. continue to exercise safety through ya.. and only suggestion is ask Alan to check the tire pressures more regular coz of the roads conditions.. Enjoy guys!

Will do that!😄

Good job again on the roads. A bit overly cautious on that short rough patch which most of the more experienced riders would have ridden without a thought. In time you will too. One thing I have done for years in such road conditions is drop my tire pressure a few psi so as to roll through unexpected potholes and improve the tread width in softer surfaces. Works very well. Over the top in the next video! 😊

Joy and Alan, thanks for sharing your journey. After a few falls your guys will gain more confident and most important thig is to enjoy your journey. I had 8 falls during my RTW in 2017. May I suggest Alan to stand up and ride when you are on gravels roads to give you a better balance and momentum. Watch out the roads in Russia Siberia Highways, roads in China are super now one of the best in the world. Enjoy your ride and stay safe.

I plan a trip from Cambodia 🇰🇭 to Luang Prabang 🇱🇦 but this road is not convincing enough for my riding solo also Laos 🇱🇦 PTT doesn’t sell premium fuel ⛽️ anymore. I will just go to Thailand 🇹🇭 instead

Thailand is a good choice too!😊

When i was in india, my friend who ride alot in this type of road taught me that to go up smoothly, you just got to go fast on this. And when going down, well just put the leg out and use the body to balance as much as you can

Thanks for the tip! We'll remember next time we're on a similar road😄

Eat well and stay hydrated. Start your ride early at sunrise and reach your destination before sunset. I personally would choose an Indian restaurant if available, can’t go much wrong with curry as the cook is usually an Indian or Nepalese. Buy some candies or stationary if possible for the kids in the mountain villages that u will pass through on your journey. Laos is much nicer to ride as it’s mountainous over Cambodia as Cambodia is flat landscape and not interesting to ride, again my personal opinion. Safe travels and ride smart.

your GS can handle the road... that bike is meant for this sort of condition as long as you didn't go into the jungle muddy extreme offroad. i'm sure you switch the riding mode to Enduro. that mode will make the suspension soft and it will switch off traction control. with a bit more practice and experience, you will return to Singapore as an expert biker. you need to trust the bike... GS is a proven machine

We'll keep that in mind😆

Guess u guys aren't well prepare for off-road condition, the GS is an adventure bike, if u hv master the balancing it will be any problem. Just open the throttle if encounter problem

Lol. These are probably the so called better roads in Laos.....be safe please.....some of the potholes....u wouldn't be able to see how deep they actually are....especially if covered by water. I call Laos the land of potholes.

Sorry but for Alan to have only just got his license then to buy that bike and be taking that route with zero experience it's asking for problems. You think those road in Laos are bad, wait until you hit China.
