If you look back on the first film, Dom told Brain that he was so angry after his father died he almost killed someone with a wrench. That is why he went to jail the first time, if you look closely he is holding a wrench again but this time does not attack Hobbs. Little detail with huge symbolism for his character development.

Especially with 5 being the first time The Rock appears in the franchise, they weren't going to let his character beat Dom. They'd be even, at best, or with Dom having a slight edge (look how this fight ended -- Dom could have killed Hobbs with the wrench if he didn't hold back. Like it or not, that's how they wrote it.) He has become popular enough in the franchise to get his own spin-off movies so they don't have to compete over whose character is "tougher" anymore though, lol. I heard one of the reasons they spun The Rock off into his own side movies was because Vin and Rock's egos were battling too much over having the toughest/strongest character.

Vince was truly Dom's friend and it showed in this scene. When he was on the ground fighting Hobbs, Brian and Mia was scared and begging for Dom to stop fighting. Vince was screaming "come on", when it looked like Hobbs had the upper hand on the ground for a slight sec. Vince never doubted for a sec that Dom couldn't take Hobbs, that's real brotherhood.

You can't blame Dom for trying to hit Hobbs for trying to hit him witha socket wrench. Hobbs tried doing it first.

This is the first 'fast' movie i watched, and it was this scene that got me into the series. I'm not a car fan so I didn't bother before, but I'm a big vin and rock fan. I needed to see this one.

6:40 HOBBS VS DOM during this fight I think Vince crossed DOM over again with the tracker chip because everyone had eyes 👀 open on the computer 🖥 whenever he was around by them. Well the why I say Vince crossed over again is that when DOM hit Hobbs with A slug punch Vince tells HOBBS to "Block" DOM'S punches 👊
