***** I have tried short scale bass... it was just for few minutes, and was not connected to amplifier, I tried it out in store It was violin-shaped hollow body, and sound didn't feel like on long scale bass, low notes was not that low. but, maybe it is just that model, it probably sound a lot better when connected to amp

The pickup is too close to the neck. It is hard for double thumbing slap/popping.
