just like As Told by Ginger, this show was good and fun to watch but from time to time it had some serious episodes to teach kids- not alot of shows today is like that, it all HAS TO be happy happy no one get hurt most of the time.. like the majority of the cartoons in the 90s and older, let kids live in the real world at least once~ dont overly sugar coat things. its not always sunny in Philadelphia lol

Noelani was actually Tito's cousin, not sister... but I agree that they could have changed the date of the wedding to any other day, but I really don't think Ray had much say, considering Momi (Noelani's mom, I'm guessing?) basically ran things from what I saw. I honestly think Ray just didn't want to risk having to deal with the wrath of Momi and potentially lose another possible life partner. I'm sure that Noelani would have understood completely about the skating competition. And being eleven or twelve, I believe that Otto will have plenty of other opportunities to make it big in sports in his future. I also loved the athletic development of Sam. I remember in the beginning of the series, he could barely balance on a skateboard and in the competition, he made it farther than Lars, which really says something.

Rocket power is one of those cartoons that is overhated nowadays. With people saying it hasn't aged well because of the show using outdated slang & extreme sports not being a thing anymore. That's a weird nitpick to me. Kim possible, recess, the proud family, and many other shows use outdated slang yet why is this show getting backlash for it ?

I've thought Rocket Power, As Told By Ginger & the Rugrats/All Grown Up series are all in the same universe, Rugrats is at the beginning of the timeline. Then Rocket Power, All Grown Up & Ginger exists at the same time. Also I agree this was an asshole move by Raymundo by having the wedding on the day of this sports challenge event hosted by Shaun white. Ray obviously knew about the challenge way before the time this episode happens, because Shaun White's challenge event would've definitely needed months of planning, to market the event & to build the facility. So Ray & Noelani could've easily moved the wedding to the weekend after the event. Because not only did Otto's shot of getting noticed by Shaun or another big sports person get ruined, but Reggie, Sam & Twister had their chanced ruined as well.

I'm on Otto's side. Otto in this show can be a total asshole at times but he's only a kid and his heart is in the right place. Raymundo should have realized how important the competition was to his son - if he and Noelani really care about each other, what's the problem with pushing the wedding date to a different time so it doesn't have to conflict with the competition? Didn't Raymundo use to be an athlete himself? Why can't he have some empathy for his own son?

Damn, is that how it ended??? Yeah, that makes Raymundo look awful. He def should've taken more time to let his kids adjust to a new person in the family, and moved it to literally any other day. I'm sure Otto would still find opportunities, but that's a major dick move to end the series on. Also... Doesn't make me feel particularly endeared to them as a family. You'd think if they wanted her to get along with them, she'd see what it means to Otto and help work something out, herself. As it is, it sounds like this special just leaves the audience still seeing her as an obstacle.

I have some issues with the “ending” of the show. Chronologically, this wasn’t it. There was that episode with Reggie and the friend she makes that the other guys think could be an axe murderer and Nolani was in it as an established stepmom. Not sure what happened there if there was writing disputes or they cut the show off early but it seems like there was more left on the table

I never realized how deep cartoons were back then. I only remember the fun times watching cartoons when I was a kid. Now I watch and see how deep the storylines are. This one reminds me of Rugrats too and how Chucky doesn't have a mom. I think she died when he was born (or atleast when he was young) and he gets his new mom Kimmy.

Honestly, his dad wasn’t very reasonable. They decided to change the date for someone because of a superstition, but couldn’t make it a weekend after the competition. It was messed up to be honest they could’ve compromised. In another note, I don’t like what they did to Sam throughout the seasons his personality changed drastically from the first season all the way to the end I prefer his personality in the first season.

I don't see this as a dark ending at all and I'm not sure why you think this would be Otto's only shot at fame; if he's really as talented as all that, there'll be many more opportunities for him and he should really wait until adulthood to try to pursue fame anyway. And the kids compete in a lot of competitions over the course of the show; this is just one of them. Also, you're putting all the blame on Raymundo when it was Mommi who insisted that the day be changed and everybody involved was simply trying to please her. And in the end, Otto chose to walk away from the competition to keep Noelani from leaving and correct the misunderstanding because *gasp* doing the right thing by his father is more important than a skate competition. Also, Noelani is Tito's cousin, not his sister.
