Very great show! Eastwing hammers 🔨 are the best! Have my grandfather's (Carpenters) wich have used for many years! Do have a knock-off rock hammer that has held up great...so far. Missed what brand (haven't looked in the about section yet) microscope you shown... mine is the Tomlov and is great for me. I do have an old lab lens one but all I use is the Tomlov. Need a good lap apron so I'll be checking that out 👍🔨✨️

You had me at the GAD prybar tool! Was on the edge of my seat until you dropped that one~ 😂 Waxed canvas is truly the difference working with water AND oils and IMO a great choice for a gift! Thx for sharing sir, have a great week~

8:17 - I actually got myself a Linkmicro microscope because of your past videos where you talked about it, and I gotta say, it's definitely worth it! I've wanted to get myself a microscope for a while and so far, I've been really happy with it. :D

Hey man, I'm just getting into rockhounding, and I'm "digging" your channel. 😂 I'm a woodworker and metal fabricator by trade, but I've been collecting high quality vintage tools of all kinds for over 10 years. While I was watching your videos I realized I had 90% of this stuff! This will be the first time I get to use it since I never do masonry. There was even a newer long-handled 4 lb Estwing sledge in there I forgot about. The rubber on the handle has been peeled off but I'm going to wrap it. 😎 I reckon I saved around $200. I told my girl, see, this is why I pick up random things on the side of the road. 😂 I have a question for you though. I have the 4 lb Sledge, and I ordered the Estwing Gad bar. Do I really need a rock hammer? I'm a minimalist and I'd rather carry as few things as possible. The gad bar and sledgehammer seem to cover more bases. I do have an inexpensive Home Depot Kobalt masonry hammer with chisel end that I could use. I'll never use it for masonry. Maybe I'll use that for a little while and decide whether I need a dedicated rock hammer.

They are really two very different things, and while on the surface they seem to have plenty of crossover they kind of go hand in hand. The hand sledge or engineers hammer from Estwing is great for breaking big rocks into smaller rocks when swinging at something like the GAD or a chisel but it's not good for fine work and that's when the rock hammer comes in. The rock hammer is meant for scraping and prying, as well as light work with a chisel. Generally, I'm going with the lighter rockhammer unless I know there's heavy work to be done, at which point its often in my car waiting for me.

If anyone knows a great identification guide or geology books that are targeted at 3rd grade level, I would appreciate recommendations for my granddaughter for Christmas! I was so excited to see it on her list. They currently live near Seattle but hoping they will return to MO next. Love the video! As always great content

Another nice video, thanks. However, I'd rather have them ask me what I can use or let me buy my own. There's too many "knock offs" out there that people think are the same thing only cheaper. Cheaper is NEVER better. Especially when it comes to Rockhounding tools.
