THis all should be a reality by now after so many years of space discovery! But sadly it is not and begs the question, will it all just remain forever in Science Fiction?! I think it will since no evidence suggest otherwise! But keep dreaming of finite space kids. That's all we have left with anyways - dreaming!

Dear Otoy, I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible work you do in preserving and showcasing classic Roddenberry Star Trek. Your channel is a treasure trove of nostalgia and appreciation for these timeless works. Watching your beautiful documentary, I couldn't help but be reminded of the things that made these showcased works so special. The artistry of the Motion Picture still resonates in its stunning design, capturing the essence of the Star Trek universe. Armin Shimerman hosted this DS9 recollection superbly in his entertaining and compelling dialogue. I must admit, when Deep Space Nine was airing, I found it a bit difficult to fully grasp its brilliance. However, when I had the opportunity to watch it in its entirety, thanks to streaming services and a full set, the true excellence of the series came through in the most enjoyable way. The intricate formula that DS9 presented unfolded before my eyes, and I was captivated by its depth and complexity. One aspect of the series that particularly fascinated me was the seamless blend of science, religion, and spirituality. It was a thought-provoking amalgamation that explored fascinating concepts and challenged our understanding of the universe. The science fiction or fantasy worked and jelled cohesively! Once again, I want to extend my deepest appreciation to you, Otoy, for your dedication to preserving and showcasing these classic Roddenbery Star Trek works. Your channel is a haven for fans like myself, allowing us to relive the magic and immerse ourselves in the captivating world of Star Trek. I am inspired to make something myself now, and for this I am grateful. Thank you for all that you do.

+@Bo_Nidle You have to give Berman and Co., Gene's prodiges of sorts, the gift of taking Gene's universe intact after his death. People were skeptical, and rightly so, of how it would come out without Gene being there. Yes, some were hating on it just because there was no Gene in it and not giving Berman a chance, but no one hated it for its content and entertainment value. Like Nu Trek faces today. After "Enterprise" ST ceased to be.

We need a full HD remaster of this show. I was just trying to get my wife to watch it on Netflix for the first time, but the low quality of the footage was an instant barrier to her being able to get into it. :( Also, I really wish we could get all these sets and locations in VR, from DS9 to the Enterprise D. There was a brilliant fan project of the Enterprise D at once point, but it sadly got shut down. Giving us something like that with proper modern VR movement, turning and interaction would just be stunning. Star Trek has never bettered the TNG/DS9 era imo, and it would be so nice to be able to go both watch both shows in glorious HD and go back there and stand in this world's special locations in VR and just be there again from time to time. Edit: Just saw some of your clips for the Vision Pro stuff. They look awesome. But, obviously, most people aren't going to be able to afford a Vision Pro, so it would be great if this kind of thing was assessable in more affordable and mainstream VR headsets too, be it PC VR or the Quest line. I have a Quest 3, and I would truly love to be able to walk around a high quality recreation of the Enterprise D bridge on that headset.

I remember Robert Meyer Burnett who worked on the TNG remaster to HD quality said it cost Paramount in 2012 $20M. He said last year in 2023 that $20M from Viacom CBS could remaster TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT in 4K. However I don’t see anything happening anytime soon when Viacom CBS which owns Paramount and Star Trek is currently up for sale.

On release, the first two seasons of DS9 were weak, but then Season 3 got things going in a way I could never have imagined. During the time that "Past Tense" Parts I & II aired, I could not understand what might have been the motivation behind the commentary underscoring the Bell Riots, but the motivation and the commentary remain highly contemporary even to this day, and in major world events past and current: the commentary harkens back to the Warsaw Ghetto, and the apartheid-era South Africa, where apartheid was abolished just a year before in 1994. Superficially, the two-parter was poverty, but as I've become three times older and wiser, I've realised, that it's about the othering of an entire people, who finally decide to rise up from the ghetto and attain their freedom.

Mr. Shimmerman (sp?) and the guy that played garak were both my favorite actors from this series as well as their characters.

God how i loved this show. The only one to show how the prime directive starfleet would handle a straight up full blown war ,filled with loss, despair, brutality, horror and hope

The fact that "Pancho's Happy Bottom Riding Club" is on the same directory as "Vince's Gymnasium" makes me feel like "Klondike Bill's Glass Bottom Boat Rides" was just a touch TOO on-the-nose.

If this doesn't scream that DS9 needs a 4k digital remaster I don't know what does.

Keep on making Great videos guys! Now where's that remaster of DS9 and Voyager? I know it will take lots of time and money do it, but it would be nice one day if Paramount would remaster them with AI for something, the DVD's don't look too good anymore especially on an HD TV. In the mean time I look forward to more great videos from the guys who do with youtube channel.

I’ve just been hate-watching what will thankfully be the last season of Discovery 🤮. What an incredible surprise to watch this fantastic love-letter homage to my favourite Trek series, our beloved DS9. The Roddenberry Archive is truly doing important work.

While Discovery has had some excellent moments, there's just entirely too much action. At least the previous season slowed things down a bit to diplomacy it out.
