Great video. It was exactly this spirit that, in the 1970s, made Pedro my first ever sporting hero. Thanks!

Great that the F1 drivers of the day were doing Le Mans , It should be mandatory that today's drivers should compete.

Nice to finally see some (small) footage of the Type 63 Maserati V12 in this. Also Denis Jenkinson at 4:43...

A great story told well, but the real story was the 4th place finish by the V12 Tipo 63 Maserati. It was the last high placing by a Maserati at Lemans and was really a semi--factory effort bankrolled by, yes, Briggs Cunningham.

Nice shot at around 2:00 of the Thompson/Pabst Cunningham Type 63 Maserati, eventual 4th place finisher and highest placing "birdcage" ever.

The clip seems to show everything BUT Rodriguez, although that is no criticism of it, and I would like to hotlink it to "looking back racing" which is my FB blog.

Monsieur Mairesse (I suppose it is Willy) not giving a Centimes about probable structural damage to his delicate chariot ... like steering, front axle, hub or anything .. he proved to be the same all the way to the door incident with that beautiful yellow GT40 . totally absorbed by racing those chaps 😰

Why did they have those little donut spare tires on the cars? Did they have a rule that they couldn't run anything wider than 6 inches?
@eduardoarredondo16747 жыл бұрын
Ray Sutorius it was tire technology. Bias ply tires.
