Just for clarity, Environmental Health is not a scarce skill. Environmental Health graduates are there just unemployed as the government doesn't seem to care about the profession. The only time they start asking about Environmental Health Practitioners is when there's a communicable disease ravaging the communities, forgetting that they were neglecting their cries all along.

What is the use of HPCSA when there are so many EH graduates who are unemployed and some struggling to get community services? Can't the government intervene?

They will only call for us when there is a pandemic whereas such things could have been prevented before hand mara ke SA akere they believe more in response and recovery or reconstruction than prevention.

the government did the national department of health did Environmental Health dirty by not giving municipalities proper support when the devolution of the profession started, the national department of health could have ensured that roles are clearly defined and that there is competent leadership to oversee the overall commitment to Environmental Health being properly integrated when rendering municipal services. that must be addressed honestly cause some municipalities are still struggling to supply environmental health services.
