I've said it before, and will again, one of the most insightful teachers out there. super important concepts, simple but difficult to implement. but I'm committed to the path. keep it up and thanks again!

Thanks for the video/concept. Float loading (club stalling/weightless) at the top; trail elbow allowed to bend (Phillis Meti) & arrow pulled from the quiver?

Love your instruction Dan. In terms of backswing and tension would you say that in the absence of arm hand and shoulder tension and assuming a proper set up at address that the ideal backswing position could be achieved just through natural shoulder and hip rotation and no other conscious club manipulation? A consistent backswing has been a lifelong struggle for me and I wonder if it just needs more focus on lowering my arm and shoulder tension than worrying what plane and hand path direction to take it back on. I guess would the same principle apply to the downswing to achieve a proper path and plane on the way back down for optimum contact?

Thanks. I'd say you are on the right track - that is certainly the case with my training aid - the PRO. Because we start at a static position, you can't quite get enough momentum to truly "Swing" the club back, but the closer you can get to that feel, the better!

Thanks for the reply Dan. To be honest it's your device that has allowed me to make some huge gains in understanding the swing. Years of blind instruction talking about positions and body turn without a blueprint of what I need to do overall has caused me a lot of grief. Your device and your channel has really helped me take that next step.

Thanks, Tom! Truthfully, it's pretty hard just to keep up with one per week. My schedule is super packed and I run two Junior Golf Tours as well! But I promise to keep up the steady pace! Let me know if you have any topics you would like covered!

After watching many videos of Fred Couples swing, I notice he doesn't turn his shoulders very much early in his back swing but later in the back swing he gets a big shoulder turn. It appears he moves his right shoulder and lat really far at the top of the swing behind his head and gets his right elbow high. Although he probably keeps his muscles fairly relaxed, it looks like he really uses his right lat and shoulder quite a bit on the downswing. Of course, I'm sure much of the downswing is propelled by his legs and hips resulting in a chain reaction up through his torso and shoulders down through his arms. Thanks Dan!

Fantastic explanation of the swing verses a hitting tendency....as you often say...pros use a rotation to create their swing and let the club ride the momentum...my buddies just try and hit harder and I just ride my rotation...they are pissed as I’m much farther with less effort...lol

That's what I love to hear! Once you can transfer momentum successfully, then you have such an edge and golf is so much more fun!

Dan after watching your latest went out and shot 78 on one of Tom Fazios best tracks...please demonstrate with the pro and a club how to increase momentum and speed for the ride at the top and through transition...I’m almost 69 and am hitting it longer and straighter than ever...love your teaching!

Starting golf after retiring I have had 2 shoulder surgeries for not following your instructional video advice; should have seen this 15 years ago. Also, I read too later a very good book by Toski, How to Feel a Golf Swing. In it he has no chapter on shoulders because "they are not leaders but good followers in the golf swing".
