I love the fact that whenever you click onto a Brian David Gilbert video there's this moment of tension on what you're about to watch. It could be a silly song, a comedic skit, a psychological horror, a how-to video on some random thing, or a beautiful introspection to make you cry. BDG is so diverse in his content that it's just beautiful and I shame the ones who dislike them.

I must say, this is a very interesting metaphor for a person which grows tired and weary of his hobby/work. You try to convince yourself that what you're doing is good for you, that you need it, that you can truly do anything while doing it. You already know that there are limits, but you pretend that they don't exist. Eventually you start questioning whether you really should pursue it, you realise you have neglected other things because of it. And then you find yourself in a place of weakness. And from that point there's two options, either you keep going with it and push yourself harder, or you choose to change.

@@clonkex well the wheels can't actually roll on grass so they just lock up. because they are wide they don't dig in, and because they have a square profile they become easier to walk on well, I imagine that's the case anyway, can't say i've actually taken blades on grass
@clonkex
@clonkex Жыл бұрын
@@ethancolman781 Ah true. I'd guess the main factor is probably the short wheelbase to let you walk like a shoe more easily. Blades require you to tilt way up on the toe to walk and it's quite tiring. But I've never actually tried quads so I can't say for sure. I can say blades don't roll on grass unless you want them to or the grass is really short/dry. I use grass to slow down on steep hills sometimes, just brace reallllly hard and roll the grass, slows you down quite effectively.

You can roll grass! Just put one foot in front of the other, brace your legs very strongly and prepare for a lot of resistance. The trick is to lean back slightly, but not so much that if the grass surprises you by being easy to roll (like the ground is really hard or something) you don't go over backwards. With your feet roughly in line with each other and your legs braced you can roll over almost anything, it's great. I use grass to slow myself down on long hills sometimes, when I don't feel like using up my wheels with T-braking.

Tbh grass is still skatable with enough effort. I use it for slowing down on hills (just roll off the footpath and onto the grass with very strongly braced legs in case of surprise hidden terrain). You can also roll down stairs with enough practice (although I've never been a fan, just too easy to end up going face-first into the concrete).
