Aged 19, pushed to the front ,knew every song and there they were right bang in front of me. Ticket was about £8 ( eight) which was not too bad at all . No " golden circle" stuff in them days. I remember them doing Angie. It was an emotional slow tempo one in a fairly high energy set. I'll never forget that day. Afterwards we all just walked to the pub !

My prayers go out to Charlie's wife and family along with the Stones I do believe Steve Jordan will do his best to honor Charlie. Please at this time remember that we have also lost so many other musicians that were key to our Stones sound for instance Brian Jones, Stu, Bobby Keys, Jimmy Miller and the many others who have passed. Also, among the living - the fabulous Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman. Also, this week saw the passing of Sara Dash. Wonderful voice saw her a few times with Keith and the Winos. It's now 2019, Mick Jagger announces final tour, for hundreds of years they'll be the benchmark along side the Beatles, I don't think there's any bands left bigger than the stones, they've all come and gone

The Beatles are the benchmark. The stones although good are not that level
@noname1st1395 жыл бұрын
@@LUFC123 the Beatles were More rounded musically and popular but I wouldn't say 1 is better than the other, it's a matter of opinion on who's best.thats why I said Beatles and stones

Angie was one of the greatest Rolling Stones songs however after listening to this live version, it leaves room for desire...!

I disagree, it’s fantastic

It's not common to see the Stones so tense on stage. They seem worried about something else, not just rocking and playing. They look almost like those bands who are tend to dissolve at any moment. The magic the Stones always had was, in fact, their capacity to enjoy themselves and their style, so much. But in here, is like they've "lost it".

I think around this time Jagger was still doing a lot of the heavy lifting regarding band details including finances, press, itinerary ,recording , licensing , merchandizing , promotion and trying to stay relevant with the ever emerging MTV .All while hoping Keith can stay out of drug and legal trouble.

Everyone there should meet up back at Roundhay next July for a 40th anniversary gig. Bring your old £10 ticket stub for free entry.

This Live version is near perfection, I personally in my opinion ain't heard one better, every musician on stage was on top of their game (cept for a slight slip by Wyman) every musician on stage gave a Mega Performance of a Stellar Song 🎤🎸🎷🥁🎵🎼👏♥️👅
