This is one of thise songs when you can't help but start moving and grooving, but then you listen to the words and think, "Man, should I be dancing to this?" Great song, great album!!!

Spot on comment. I typically didnt pay attention to the actual words of songs until I had heard a song a few times. Even if I actually knew the song well enough to sing along to it, I didnt really think about the meaning of the lyrics. This is one of the songs that hit me when I first really acknowledged the words. Super upbeat music, fantastic groove, impossible not to dance/move to.....but what powerfully sad lyrics. Great song from a great band.

@@glenncanale9225 Love the Stones, friend, indeed I do. Absolutely phenomenal musicians, who were influenced by the greatest of all - the Beatles. Now, don't jump down my throat, please. The Beatles produced the greatest album of all time, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", according to dozens of music critics, & "Rolling Stone" magazine. The album won 4 Grammy awards. They have more #1 hits than any other musical artists in modern music. They're the best-selling band of all time, having sold over 600 million recordings worldwide. And, they're the highest earners of any band EVER. There's no doubt, however, that the Rolling Stones are simply FANTASTIC!

Banger! The sound is too raw. And when those horns kick in it's full gone. I remember hearing this on the radio when I was in first grade or thereabouts. One of the first records of theirs I bought when I was a teenager some years later was a compilation album titled "Made in the Shade" that featured "Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)" along with tracks from their first four albums of the seventies including "Brown Sugar", "Tumbling Dice", "Wild Horses", "Angie", "It's Only Rock'n Roll (But I Like It)" -- kind of a greatest hits package for five bucks or what not. And the album artwork fit the title. Classic stuff.

@@michaelb.3982 I didn't say it bothers me. I just don't respect it. For one thing, why would a 25 year old want to date Mick Jagger? For all the wrong reasons. For another, why would an 80 year old want to date a 25 year old? Perhaps for home nursing care? That makes some sense, because it wouldn't likely be for the conversation.

Fantastic reaction! This song is everything you said it is. I can remember when I really got into the Stones. I was in the 9th grade and it never faded, it only got stronger as the years went on. I had a mirrored keychain that I snatched from Spencers that I hung on my purse until I got my license and I believe someone snatched it from me. What goes around comes around. I wish I still had it. It's so sad that our police have gotten so trigger-happy. If you're not guilty, you shouldn't run but I can imagine having PTSD from getting chased by the cops. It's a sad state of affairs.

If you’re going to get into The Stones and really want to know them, you gotta get to know Keith Richards. As he’s said, in the band, Mick is the rock and he’s the roll. All the great guitar riffs you hear coming from them came from Keith. He’s also the backing vocals on almost all of their tracks and even does lead vocals on many tracks, many of which are awesome. Check out ‘Little T&A’, ‘Happy’, or ‘Before They Make Me Run’ if you want to hear some examples.

I have to wonder whether the junkie girl who died might have been based at least in part on Devon Wilson, a close friend of Jimi Hendrix' who was irresistibly drawn to Mick as well, leading Jimi to immortalize her as 'Dolly Dagger'. She was reported to have died while taking part in a movie about NYC junkies. 😢💔🪆🗡 Perhaps not, never heard the "10 year-old" part before. 😮
