I love how, even after all these years, the Stones still sound like an under rehearsed pub band! Slightly out of tune, lazy laid back blues feel. I think that's how they hear things after so many hours listening to the old American blues guys. Great!

1:36 - 1:42 sounds like a harp or a keyboard.

If it is a keyboard, I believe it would be Ian Stewart playing it. I’ve read somewhere that he was present for some of the sessions.

@@Famulus9 Could it be Nicky Hopkins? He played on the album, but I can't say whether he had any involvement in pre-production

@@igorszamaszow171 It’s certainly possible, but I believe Nicky was doing studio work with the Kinks, the Move, and the Jeff Beck Group around this time as well.

@@Famulus9 Truth recorded May ‘68 and this was Feb/March. Could be Village Green or ‘The Move’ album that Nicky was working on though.

@@BigSky1 Ah yes, you’re right about Truth. Still, I think it’s more likely Stu would have been present for these instead of Nicky since from the looks of what has been released, these sessions were mostly jamming and Nicky had real studio work to do.

@@tonysimmons5729 Yeah that picture is from the Sympathy for the Devil sessions at Olympic a few months after this recording, I personally can’t find many pictures from the Surrey rehearsals.
