Deila was a stopgap in a rangers-less league and would never have managed us if they didn't go bust, but he laid the foundations for the quad-treble ie his medical team fixed Brown, Lustig & Forrest's injury problems. He also developed McGregor, Rogic & Tierney into first team players, and signed Armstrong, Roberts & Craig Gordon

Ronnie was the start of the celtic modern era but he had a bunch of dinosaurs like commons stokes that turned against him but all the youth players loved him

I’ll always have time for Ronny Deila, I think it speaks volumes about Scottish football that multiple managers have been disgusted by the dietary and fitness standards of footballers, and have subsequently faced player revolts as a result (John Collins at Hibs, Deila at Celtic) all because they wanted professional athletes to act like professional athletes. Lost a bit of respect for Commons and Mulgrew after this period

I remember attending the home leg of UCL qualifier v Malmo. Totally dominant but conceded a last second goal to gift them a second away goal. Despite winning that game 3-2 you could feel it was going south as soon as the final whistle blew.

Was at that game. Was defo a deflated feeling in the ground when that 2nd goal went in. Still would have been knocked out as Malmo beat us 2-0 away from home if I remember correctly 😢

@@MrWise1888 Yep, definitely felt like the beginning of the end! You could feel the place was totally deflated and the mood definitely soured that night. Still convinced the team would have had enough to get through with a two-goal lead.

Was a nice bloke who tried his best, you could see by the end the pressure of the job was too much for him and he was needing of a break. Did the bare minimum in winning the league titles but just never progressed further after what seemed a good & promising finish to his 1st season.

I never disliked Ronny Deila, and was always disgusted with the lack of ambition from the board. As always, the board only care about winning the league, so we just needed to be better than Aberdeen. Nadir Ciftci as the headline signing one summer was embarrassing. What Ronny did with such limited funds was pretty decent overall, and the performances in Europe in his first season were excellent. The second season was a bit of a disaster, but with the kind of money Rodgers has now, they would have achieved a lot more.

Agree about the chips etc. But he had them on Atkins diet basically. Ask any doctor if that's good for you.

Fad diets? FFS Ronny 🙄

Ronny was way off with his fad diet. Footballers should not be on keto diets
