The way he acts before telling her "I love you" is just great! The body language and facial expression saying "more than my own life".

The bug question is SO real. I love the writing for Lucy's character with all of her fun relatable lines (especially the early days with her trolling Tim)

Tim wasn't scared killed the bugs because it's bugs. Station 19 Andy was screaming funny when she saw raccoon 😂😂😂

OK this is actually a sweet gesture from the Tim. He really thinks he is OK with Lucy working undercover and he really wants to prove it. The surprise on his face when theacune says its a lie says everything. But best was his face when Lucy asked "do you love me?" First Tim was surprised, but then his mimic became soft and you didn't need a lie detector to tell it's true. (Well played!) ❤ I'm really glad they worked it out (at least I hope so). Thanks so much for posting.

I don’t think Tim will ever be completely ok with Lucy being a UC because trauma never really goes away. It stays with you for the rest of your life. So it’s like his mind was saying yes but his heart was saying something different. He’s supportive but also has that lingering fear that something will go horribly wrong because he’s scared of losing Lucy the same or an even worse way he lost Isabel.

I went through trauma when I was a kid and that was 21 years ago and I still have nightmares from it. 💔

@@rosejune1995-r7t Agreed. Kinda feel like we should expect a arc perhaps next season? of Lucy falling into some sort of downward spiral.. Maybe not exactly the same as Lucy but something similar.

It’s not just that yes they have a dangerous job but uniform cops and detectives have backup a few mins out they need help the Calvary is comeing UCs are for the most part on their own Tim being who he is is not going to be ok with anyone he cares about being in danger like that because of his childhood and his time in the army he is to his core a protector

I think its also the time related disconnect. Its often not possible to simply call them. THey can disappear for months at a time. Its not going to work on a show like The Rookie where Lucy is a main character though. @@seanbraley2772

Can we just appreciate how very Tim and Lucy "esque" this scene is?! 😂😂 Bravo to the writers for staying so true to character. Because of COURSE we don't get the big "I love you" scene(s) in some calm, generic way. 😂 Only Tim and Lucy would have that moment by lie detector test. 😂 And yet, there was nothing camp about it. It was a very sweet and tender scene. I love how soft his face gets and that soft, almost incredulous chuckle he gives like "do you even need to ask?" as he answers. Just a perfect scene (then perfect follow up with her saying it at the wedding).

I could have taken this wrong, but I took it as they had said I love you to eachother before. She was just “testing” him. Just my thoughts

@@jenileeannThat is 100% what happened at this point they have been together about a year based on Angela’s pregnancy. There is no way they hadn’t already said it which is why neither of them hesitated to say it.

Yea I actually hven't loved how they started this season!!! Meaning its felt a little anti-climatic considering how the finale was SUCH A JAMMED PACKED ep from start to finish!!! That while I like what's happening w/ Tim & Lucy, I'm surprised, I guess. They're focusing on Celina BUT esp on Aaron & the trauma he experienced getting shot, BUT I really didn't think Lucy wz fine by the end of the Finale?!?! I still think that being undersiege & attacked as they were & that Lucy wz in trouble by the end, whn the guy wz trying 2 choke her & she went down on the concrete & had her eyes closed whn Tim wz finaly able 2 punch the guy out, Lucy didn't look fine the rest of the ep nor spoke!!! I STILL think Lucy has sum trauma issues as well?!?! Cuz it wz Tim who said 2 her the ep b4 the Finale "U hve 2 promise me, if I ever see sumthing...I need u 2 take it seriously, cuz otherwise the pain I went thru w/ Isabel will hve bin 4 nothing & I can't lose u, like I lost her!" I felt like it wz 4shadowing that Tim is at sum pt, going 2c sumthing that Lucy is gonna struggle w/!! She keeps saying she's fine, but I still think she dozn't really know the depths of how hard uc work can be in the long term?!?! Look what it did to Harper!!! I'm glad Lucy is still close 2 Harper esp & Lopez. Its also why I thot Tim's realy the 1 who needs 2b in the same division cuz Tim & Isabel weren't after being rookies!!!!

But if he wld've asked her Qs using the lie detector test, she might've bin surprised what it revealed abt her trauma & fears in her subconscious as well?! I DID 4get, WE STILL DON'T KNOW whose ultimately behind the real target 🎯 after the siege & 1st ep, whn the main guy wz killed on transport 2 the prison, whn we thot they were a new villain?! (I saw a clip where sum of the actors said this season is going 2 look differ than any oth season we've seen yet!! The ONLY thing they said, Mekia Cox wz 1, that each of them r going 2 hve personal struggles, not sure if that's all w/ their significant oths?! I actually 4 a min, thot near the end of ep 2, that Celina's character wz going 2b killed off & found dead?!?! I did love that she wz 4ced 2 hve Harper 4 a shift & Harper treated her as a boot, & said "boot," & in true form had a nick name 4 her. I just realized u said, more than 4?!?! Curious if James & Harper r going 2 hve sum issues. Lopez & Wesley, we've seen them have struggles being married. So I'm not sure if it would be them?! BUT Harper didn't want 2 tell James that she thot & kill a criminal. And said she wzn't ready 4 him being angry. But surprisingly it seemed less abt her safety but more b/c he wz black & the struggle & real struggle he has w/ how black men in particular are treated by police & in the justice system?! Not sure?!?!

This was not about her. This was about him, wanting to prove her he's fine with her careerplans. He wanted that really badly but in fact she was right: He is not okay with her working undercover. He never was.
