I added a little link to my new The Hitcher review, the excellent Second Sight restoration, as I remember this from the DVD - and absolutely another compelling involving Rutger. What a talent!

I revisit this short film from time to time, it makes me feel nostalgic. I grew up watching Rutger Hauer and it is even more poignant now that he is gone.

It's my hope that I will finish my one task so that when the time comes that I can utter such acknowledgement, it will be with the satisfaction I heard in his voice. Beautiful film.

The story on which this short film is based was written by the then 19 year old famous Dutch author-to-be and published in the magazine Elsevier Weekblad in 1947.

What a Great short! I love film shot in Black and white all the detail it captures. And as always Great acting! This and many other short films makes me wish I could go into film making... but seeing as I didn't do well in school and no college or university would take me in, it will only be a dream.....

Having gone to what was once considered one of the best film schools, I can say that I learned far more about how to make a movie from KZbin tutorials and just playing around with a camera (even a cell phone will do) and some inexpensive editing software. I know your comment is a decade old but I hope you at least got to explore your dream. If not, there's still time!
