But it's even worse, because everyone knows that astrology is an ancient practice based on ancient (poor) understanding of the universe, whereas the Rorschach test is posed as "science" which is supposed to mean it has been thoroughly tested and shown consistent results, so people are much more likely to trust it as truth.

I think the real problem is people using this test just for fun, this is not a personality test like the Myers-Briggs or 16 personality factor, this should not have pre fabricated answers as the analysis and reading of the projections may considerably vary from person to person... The test, as many projective tests, seems a bit esoteric and mystic, and yeah, if presented this way, totally akin to astrology. The truth is, when a specialist makes you undergo this kind of tests they are analysing all the narrative you build, your beliefs, archetypes, they dive into your unconscious using the ink blots as a mean to encourage free association, examine your thought process and emotional state, and you can bet it's always used among other tests and sorts of criteria. Lastly, these kind of tests aren't good to determine personality treats, at least not on their own, they can broadly point out some severe malfunction in your mind but of course it won't give you any kind of diagnosis. Remember this test was initially conceived to be used in schizophrenic patients, as a mean to understand more what's go on in their minds. I, myself, am not a big fan of this test, it's way too easy to misinterpret and it actually doesn't bring any new information that you can't get through other tests and the therapy process itself. I really don't get why it has so much legal weight in American courts.

Its basically meant to trigger some type of recognition response when he listed them. If you recognize it in the picture and agree with it then yes. If you disagree with it and cant see then its an obvious no and you dont associate with that. just find patterns see what it gets on the list You can pretty much take out the whole observation and guess what it is and pretty much use the prefabricated list The observe and guessed correctly something strongly correlated to you I think? Thats what my interpretation is. Though the test feels like it largely depends on how large they have veiwed the world before taking the test imo thatd make the test more accurate I suppose, I dunno

@@ci6516 Because It's pretty immaterial which one applies to you, most people have a pretty myopic view of themselves and are suggestible enough to doubt or reconsider their personalities and actions in a context of examinations without applying much thought to the veracity of the testing methods or whether the test is showing actual consequential results. They just spend a few minutes in minor unsurely of their own traits and self-perception where they accept a description of themselves in good faith from an unreactive, wrote description. In essence, most descriptions are unfalsifiable because human beings exhibit a wide swath of behavior unless they have severe psychological problems, and any relatively normal descriptor can apply to most people in at least a few contexts, enough that if questioned they can see that trait within themselves. The entire methodology is based on arbitrary judgment from an outside source and confirmation bias without follow-up or rigor. Basically the main criticism of psychology itself, especially when applied by wrote, by the incompetent, or by the uncaring.

i thought the description was very general and describe a lot of people. if you are doing incredibly in your professional life, but your personnel romantic life is bad, you would count. if you are doing incredibly in your personnel romantic life, but your professional life is bad, you would count. if you are the number one creator in the world, and are just like incredibly productive, but the world isnt as good as you thought it would be, like you thought people would be better than they are. then you would count in that description. if you are very unproductive, but no matter how much you try you fail, you would count. it seems similiar to horoscopes/astrology IMO, id recommend looking up "James Randi horoscope", you can find a few videos with him kind of debunking them.

My friend was a Ph.D. student when I was in college, and he had me take this test as an assignment for him. I remember looking at the pictures, and I had very dark interpretations of all of them, like "This one is a serial killer," and "This one is a man about to commit suicide."

Either this is a cry for help or you gain a feeling of significance by having others see you as "dark" or "troubled." I heavily lean towards the latter. If the latter is true, it indicates that you have a social adaptation for causing concern in those around you as a means of generating social interest in yourself. It's amazing to see the variety of strategies that emerge in people's behaviors to circumvent the "normal" avenues of gaining "social points." And there are a lot of them and most people have very little conscious awareness of them or how they came to be. It's important to point out that social strategies that emerge as a result of pressures and circumstances lead to very unpredictable and sometimes extremely negative results after the original circumstances that lead to the adaptation have changed. If you consider what I've said and realize that it's true for you, I would recommend taking some time to analyze this adaptation and take control over it so that you can guarantee more consistent and positive results. The fact of you leaving a comment for strangers to read on a KZbin video makes me lean towards thinking that it's an unconscious strategy, assuming that this is true for you.

I took the test back in 2003 and I think at the time, I was depressed and troubled, but that has improved since then. Still, I have noticed that in recent years, people, including me, share personal confessions on social media sometimes. I think being quarantined because of COVID-19 has led to me doing this more often, and perhaps for others too. I am in a much better place now than I was back then, but still occasionally "backslide," which might be why I seek social recognition on youtube and other places. I've since had therapy and am in a loving relationship, which I was not at the time. Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to reach out!

I saw things in every image but i didn't see anything that came with a description. 1. A jet plane 2. A deer's head seen from above/in front 3. Ribs connecting to a pelvis 4. I felt this was pretty similar to a horoscope as many of the personality types apply to me, even when a particular image jumped out at me. So, being so vague, the personality attributes mentioned all belong to pretty much everyone to some extent or another..so when you are told if you see a particular thing, you are going to have set a,b and c of personalty traits, they will naturally appear to apply to yourself.

Something tells me a “talk pareidolia to me” shirt is coming... x) So, this is the first time I’ve ever taken this test with colors as opposed to black/white. It made my answers naturally, extremely specific and I didn’t think too quickly about the shape, (or how specific the choices were until you said something). Nothing I said was even remotely close to the answers, which I found super interesting and hilarious. This was fun. Thanks for all the content this week, get some rest! 💀🤍

I didn't get any matches for the image descriptions, but, I think that's because I saw more things in the negative space between the ink blots than in the blots themselves.

The issue I have with this test and the other one you did a video on is that in multiple explanations for what I saw, the explanations were extremely relatable. Where I saw myself relating to the explanation if I put myself in the position of picking whatever I saw. For example in the first image, I saw myself relating to the cat and the rocket explanation wise, but I did not see either a cat or a rocket.

I find this kind of videos very entertaining despite their level of accuracy haha, in my case on some there wasn't the description on what I saw but the others were kind of accurate :)
