I don't think this is bedbugs... Where I live, bedbug infestations are unfortunately somewhat common. I know several people that have dealt with them, including my own brother. The fear, paranoia and anxiety associated with bedbugs comes from KNOWING you have an infestation and are sleeping with and sharing a space with them, not from the bites themselves. They also don't ejaculate all over your chest and refuse to let you stop dating them.
@EmmaLuttrell

I was about to say this as well. I've had them in the past and I had no anxiety or paranoia or anything like that until I confirmed my infestation. The psychological effects come from the fact that you can't be comfortable in the most vulnerable place in your home without thinking about things crawling through your sheets and biting you...that does things to a person.

As someone whose also had bed bugs, i think the theory on there being bed bugs could also work; He could be drugging her with medication instead of needles, and the bedbugs couldve been something that just infested. The likely-ness is most probably either the boyfriend drugging her, or both.

Bed bugs typically have a very specific bite pattern. I know this is disgusting but they literally bite you in a line until they’re full then they stop. Plus bed bugs tend to go for easily exposed skin, so if she’s sleeping naked or in very little clothing she would have bites all over not just her thighs, bed bugs don’t discriminate either so if the boyfriend ever stayed over at her house he would have bites too.

I feel like we really aren't paying enough attention to the dried s*men (does that need to be censored? Idk) being on her everytime she waked up. This wasn't just her not remembering things the best, or having weird marks, her boyfriend was clearly doing something to her she wasn't always into when she was mentally compromised. Even if that state was because of him or bedbugs or something else, that's still really concerning just on its own, and feels like a pretty important thing in this story.

i agree, throughout the video and even reading the comments i kept wondering about that. that detail is one that led her to believe he was drugging her, so it probably was something that is isolated to her waking up with memory loss. even if this is all due to bed bugs, it still is really weird. every time she woke up, she woke up to that. my theory is the boyfriend could have probably noticed she was out of it and convinced her to do let him do that, which is sexual assault.

You don’t know if she was “mentally compromised”. For all we know, she could’ve been fully conscious during the events but have been experiencing a memory loss. If her boyfriend was really drugging her to rape her, it seems rather idiotic to leave an extremely incriminating evidence like that multiple times, is it not? Something that really sticks out about this whole thing is that if it wasn't her bf drugging her then he really isn't bothered by her acting strange. Even her friends said she wasn't herself, so surely he would have noticed too. Especially being a medical professional, if he really cared about her he'd put her strange behavior, bad memory, and other symptoms together and think "hmm something isn't right" but instead he's using it as an opportunity to get off? Even if he wasn't doing the drugging he wasn't totally innocent.

There is this general assumption that every mental health professional cares about people's mental health, which is sadly not true. Mental health care is often more about the comfort of everybody else, than the comfort of the patient. I have been medicated into amnesia (lost a whole week, with only small moments I can remember sprinkled in between), aswell as into a state so close to sleep, I'd fall asleep minutes after sitting down, which caused me severe panic, which didn't bother anyone though, since I was so mentally numbed I couldn't even properly express myself anymore. In both cases the responsible doctors evaluated the effect of the medication as "improving my condition". So, yeah, sadly this part is not surprising to me at all.

@creativedesignation7880 3 жыл бұрын
Strongly underrated comment right here! Looked this up, cause I have never dealt with bedbugs and it checks out 100%. The psychological effects do not occur due to the bites, but due to knowing about the bedbugs. A person will be anxious and stressed and will have trouble sleeping, since their bed is infested. The lack of sleep can then lead to other psychological symptoms including paranoia. People can also develope delusional parasitosis. All of these are based on knowing about the bedbugs, if you don't know you have them, you can not develope these symptoms.

It's an option, even the only option, because it was verified to the highest possible degree. Based on her experiences, somebody predicted it was bed bugs, they told her exactly what she would see if it was bed bugs, she looked at her mattress and verified that she saw it, confirming the prediction. I don't know if you've done a lot of science or math, but a coincidence of that magnitude is a near impossibility. Clearly, bedbugs cause problems that result in psychological effects. Blood loss, sleep loss, constant irritation, inflammation -- sleep loss especially can reduce people to delirium in a matter of days, typically without even tipping off friends and family. The alternative is that the person drugging her told her she should see a doctor, cynically manipulated her not just into sex, but into going out to dinner with her in an amnesiac/drugged state, AND, ON TOP OF THAT, based on the story, we saw someone predict, and saw her confirm, that she had bed bugs.

He said the ptsd you quoted is due to the trauma of experiencing an infestation but not caused by the bugs physically biting the individual. @@NeiasaurusCreations I don't know. I don't like how that theory became such a big focus and got so much talk time. It's fine to state a more "what if though" type theory, but he spent way too much time on it and it really seems like he personally believes in the bedbug theory. I don't want to re-watch the video to clarify this (so I might be wrong here), but I believe he also discredits other theories like the boyfriend drugging her and such. It's also just generally infuriating to see youtubers who do these types of videos not put even the most basic of research into a video. It's ridiculous. Even the reddit thread has people discounting the bedbug theory as impossible. And even if he didn't see that, that's something I definitely would have fact checked. It doesn't make even the smallest bit of sense. Bugs that just suck your blood can mess with your brain? Uh, What? Do they release a chemical or something? Can they be infected with a virus or something, and it passes on to humans like how malaria passes to humans through mosquitoes? Those are the questions I would have if presented with something like that. And I think others would have questions too. It sounds like something from a zombie movie. Not like a real life phenomenon. I very much hope that woman got help.
@NeiasaurusCreations
@NeiasaurusCreations 2 жыл бұрын
@@someoneidk308 Its such a mess, and partially because we don't really have enough evidence to work off. We don't even have a picture of the needle marks/bites whatever they may be. Nor do we have much more than some seriously suspicious behavior from the eyes of someone who is having serious memory issues. I don't think bedbugs fit this, it doesn't example too much. And the fact we have to add extra explanations to explain details like the adult fluids on her chest just further convinced me that bedbugs just doesn't SEEM right. But sadly I have no evidence, and what we're presented with is at best from an admittedly somewhat unreliable source. Because if she's suffering such serious and constant memory loss it could be drugging. It could also be a mental illness. Or an environmental effect. And we just lack any evidence. Leaving all of this to intense speculation... I fear the truth is we will likely never know what has taken place. And at the very least, I think she absolutely needed to break up with him, change her locks, and cut contact. The fact she SUSPECTS he is capable of it is reasonable grounds to end the relationship out of self-preservation even if I can't proclaim him guilty. And the behavior of doing stuff with someone whos so out of it they don't remind is not something I feel anyone should be comfortable with, especially the victim. So I don't believe she is crazy, and I believe her when she says something is seriously wrong. I just can't make the final thing of saying someone is guilty without solid evidence, just out of principal. But that doesn't mean what she's going through is okay, and she needs help, actual help. I'm just afraid reddit didn't provide it, and failed her.

@@NeiasaurusCreations It's a real tragedy. I sincerely hope someone in her life (not the bf) was able to intervene and help her. If it was me, I don't know where I'd even begin. Probably test for carbon monoxide? (I think she did do that though? Again, I don't want to rewatch the video lol). Then question my sanity and probably have a mental breakdown. Edit: Also I really want to make it clear that bedbugs doesn't fit here because it's just impossible. I'm beating a dead horse and I know you're aware of it, but like. It's just not possible. She might have a bedbug infestation- that's not the issue. The thing is that bedbugs just don't have that effect on the human psyche unless we know about the infestation. The paranoia, memory loss, sleep deprivation, etc. comes from the knowledge that there are tons of bugs inside of your home and you're going to have to put yourself in financial trouble to get rid of them. You get the same effects if you have an infestation of rats, spiders, snakes, mice, cockroaches, etc. The issues stem from your home not being safe. It's genuinely traumatizing for those who have dealt with infestations before- some develop PTSD over it. My family has had to deal with bedbugs multiple times before and you can't even say the word or else people get visibly anxious. If someone reports a small beetle it means we have to tear apart the bedding. I once found a singular bedbug- I literally caught it before it reproduced- and we stayed up all night washing and drying everything. We melted the plastic of my sisters mattress with a hairdryer. But before we know about the bugs we're fine. We can be infested and we are totally normal. After? Hoo boy, it's a parade of paranoia and other issues.

If it were bed bugs though, I think it's weird they were only on one of her thighs. Even if she sleeps with long sleeves and shorts, it doesn't explain why bugs would prefer to bite only one leg over the other, or any other spot other than her thigh. The evidence of her finding dirt on her mattress is pretty damning but idk. Maybe she just didn't notice any other bites and just hyperfocused on those?

I made sure to finish the video before I had anything to say. I am absolutely shitting myself that bedbugs is even being considered here. IF this is a real story on reddit and not someone attention seeking and then dipping out when a random excuse came up from the redditors suggesting bedbugs, then I'm gonna go ahead and tell you that it is absolutely not bedbugs. You're telling me this girl goes into all this detail about her abusive boyfriend, memory loss, character changes and semen, then immediately sees the suggestion of bedbugs and is like "Ah fuck that's it. Thanks yall." No. First of all I DO come from a low income area where I know more people with bedbugs than I do without. I've had em. I've fought em. I've helped so many people fight em. They are EXTREMELY DISTINCT creatures. Their bites DO NOT look like needle marks or flea bites, but if you're image searching bedbug bites and don't already know what they look like then you're easily looking at actual photos of needle marks and flea bites under the impression that they're bed bug bites. They're not. They have a very specific look, typically larger than a flea bite, smaller than a spider bite, and they're bumpy. They also always come in clusters, because the bugs literally take a couple steps, munch, take a couple steps, munch, and repeat as much as they can. And if she had em then the boyfriend had em. Everybody at her work probably had em. Somebody would be mentioning them. You can SEE them walking around your house and on your body and in your clothes, they're not microscopic. And I tell you what, they absolutely do not cause memory loss. You are likely feeling overstressed by the KNOWLEDGE of the bug infestation, losing sleep due to paranoia of the bugs constant and persistent existence, constantly getting bit. But if she didn't have knowledge of the bugs and even forgot about these marks on her leg, she ain't experiencing paranoia from the bugs. Also, if she forgot about them, they wouldn't be infected. Because bed bug bites are rarely infected, only if she's scratching them insane amounts to cause open wounds and letting them get infected. She never mentions itchiness, and I can't imagine forgetting the feeling of a bedbug bite and not noticing it's infected. F all that. Her boyfriend is messing with her. I find it highly likely that she started to panic about the reality of her boyfriends crimes, or that maybe he found out about her posting. She might've shut down the conversation by giving false and very basic implications that she must've just had bedbugs. Or maybe the boyfriend posted that to shut it down. I'm feeling more and more disappointed in redditors that look at a very clear domestic abuse situation on reddit and suggest insane ass ideas that will only confuse and distract the OP from the real problem - which is that they're being abused. I hope this girl's okay and out of that situation because that dude was straight tf drugging her. Disgusting.

This sounds a lot like psychosis, to be honest. The gaps in memory even while driving or doing something that necessitates conciousness, the increasing paranoia, and the suspicion of her boyfriend - it's completely likely that her boyfriend *is* drugging her, but the delusion that a loved one is drugging or somehow manipulating you is incredibly common for those suffering with psychosis or schizophrenia. It's also possible she has other traumas related to her boyfriend, hence the worsening of her condition when he's around. It could be PTSD-related in some way.

The thing is that when you have this large of a memory gap (where there’re no clear recollections of what’s happened) to the point where you can’t add things together it’s really rare that you act in a way where you can go on public dates with other people. The levels you need for your paranoia to increase to those levels would really alter your behavior, let alone impossible to have a “normal” relationship with someone. The doctor would’ve known he was dating a psychotic person and considering he’s a doctor he knows not to treat her like that, especially not let her sleep with his cum on her chest.

I really don't think it's bedbugs. Bedbugs make you paranoid that there are more bugs, not that your boss is going to fire you, and also their bites are in neat lines. I think OP would've mentioned that, had it been the case. All of the symptoms you mentioned about bedbugs are true, but disregard what OP is saying in regards to what she is experiencing and her thoughts on the matter, i.e. that her boyfriend is drugging her. I suspect mental health problems instead, since these wild claims, paranoid, out of character behavior, and rigid conviction despite lack of evidence line up more with delusions than anything else. For as to why she has these delusions, I don't know. Could be a sign of anything from schizophrenia to simple sleep deprivation. But I reaaaaally don't think it's bedbugs. The rash could be entirely unrelated, and it seems flimsy to base a theory off of that.

This sounds like benzos to me, which would make sense with homie being an EMT. Benzos have a long and strong history of being used in this way and the symptoms line up exactly. Xanax at certain doses specifically seems to have this effect of allowing users to function almost perfectly normally while under the influence, but remember nothing about what they did while high. This would explain her ability to drive without remembering the drive itself. There are other drugs that do this, but Xanax is really easy to get and explains every symptom, not to mention it's incredibly addictive and once a dependence is formed, quitting cold turkey can be deadly (moreso than many other illicit substances). It's quite possible that homeboy is drugging her and feels comfortable doing so as he could easily claim that she was using on her own terms. If the supposed drugging were to continue, op would likely become more suggestible, and have a harder time remembering if they were using on their own terms. My sources are: I used to do a lot of drugs and hang out with people who also do a lot of drugs, and at one point I was drugged and assaulted by one of these sorts of people.

Cadaber is weirdly hyperfocused on the bedbugs theory to the point where he dismisses the evidence of potential drug use or even uses said evidence as evidence of bedbugs. His whole "well which is it???" thing: 1. The tone and word choice he's using in his "memory loss can be drugs" bit straight makes it sound like he thinks it's not drugs because of how many could cause it. He also definitely tried to use it as evidence of bedbugs instead despite conflicting accounts and the part where it seems like he's getting his information solely from nonprofessional accounts. 2. Her driving places without any memory is definitely weird, but I wouldn't be surprised if the boyfriend drove the car there or if one of their cars wasn't actually theirs. It's easy to mistake someone else's car for your own if you're far away, especially if you don't remember where you parked it. Imo it's also kind of convenient that she only "woke up" at the restaurant but that could be nothing. Also: "she used muscle memory to drive!" that's not a good argument, Cadaber, why did you call that a good argument. If you're drugged, your ability to react and such is impaired. That's why there's laws about not driving under the influence. 3. "Her paranoia is caused by bedbugs!" Completely ignoring that drugs can cause paranoia too? There's also way a lot a lot of comments on this point basically saying the paranoia comes from knowing about the bedbugs being there, not so much their bites. (Also: I went to the post in the video, which is linked in the pastebin. The top comment is this, from user Pure-Applesauce: "OP, the mods received a message from a verified physician who claims that bedbugs cannot cause the symptoms you describe in your post. He or she strongly suggests that you visit a doctor for help--which seems to be very prudent advice." So take that as you will.) I'm not saying it's impossible that there were bedbugs. The OP admitted to having one of the mentioned telltale signs of them. I just think the symptoms OP experienced are unrelated to the bugs and that Cadaber jumped on the bedbugs theory and let confirmation bias kick in. Correlation is not causation. There's quite a bit to the post that went completely unaddressed by Cadaber. This does not set a good precedent for a new viewer like myself.

Issues with bedbugs- paranoia, sleep loss, etc. Come AFTER you are made aware of the infestation. I have had them multiple times. You only become fucked up mentally after you are made aware of the infestation. The fact that Cadaber is so focused on it and the comment section also seems to believe its bedbugs and are heavily defending the theory (some even referencing studies that are done on people who *KNOW* they have bedbugs) has made me unsubscribe. It's conspiracy-theory level of implausible, and while I enjoy a good conspiracy every so often, I do not appreciate it at the expense of someone obviously going through a real issue- whether it be psychosis, drugs, or something else. If OP wasn't being gaslighted before the post, she definitely is now.

Dried semen is the part that needs to be addressed. She needs to confront him about it. Otherwise she needs medical evaluation, psychological evaluation, and probably to set up a camera. Some are saying the memory loss could be a sign of another underlying medical condition that could be serious so she definitely needs to look into those too. Paranoia is also rather concerning. Definitely rule out everything before taking her boyfriend to police or court, because I worry about her being wrong and getting jail time for a "false report" or even being right but not having enough evidence.

I worked in a mental health facility with constant bed bugs. The paranoia is centered around the bugs unless of course there’s something else going on as well. A severe bed bug infestation will have bugs crawling up the walls to find a place to live that’s not full of other bugs. They cluster together in big clumps of bugs for safety. It was horrifying. In short, if she had a severe enough infestation to show general signs of paranoia, she’d know she had bed bugs. They’d be everywhere.

The bedbug theory is really far fetched imo. The mental health effects come from knowing you have them, not their bites on their own. The only factor of this that could be explained by bedbugs is the marks, but there's a hell of a lot of unexplained factors here if that's the theory.

I don't think it was bedbugs. Even if you have an allergic reaction to their bites, they cannot cause the symptoms that the OP is describing. Plus, not once did she ever mention feeling itchy, which...if you have bedbugs, ya gonna itch. A LOT. The bumps would be all over her, not just localized to one part of her body on one instance; they tend to cluster, but will appear all over any exposed skin. Also, if she's been going to her boyfriend's house, and he's been hooking up with her on her own bed, then trust me, he would have them, too. But he never brings it up. In fact, there ARE drugs that will only affect consciousness and memory loss, without impeding motor control. And yes, they are in intramuscular injection form. Like you, I am not going to list them, for obvious reasons. Also, if the doctor she went to worked at a hospital her bf ever worked at as well, there's a possibility that her bf could have been notified. It's a MASSIVE violation of HIPPA, but sadly, it does happen quite more often than you'd think. I'm worried for this girl. Really, really worried. @@WobblesandBean The biggest issue is that she didn't note about any other possible bites. Remember, she noted that it was the guy pointed it out and not herself. However, a big bit of useful info is that if she treats her bed and gets it treated like bedbugs. Then there is 14:06 segment, which does provide some evidence of a bedbug infestation. In fact, the only piece of evidence against the guy is literally the fact that he works a medical profession that she says isn't his forte as he is an ENT and when he (according to her) randomly pointed out the bumps (5:05), she had immediately left (5:26) on top of never mentioning if he had bites as well (as it might have been covered up if he was wearing clothes like jeans, dark shirt, et cetera). There's too little to go on without making assumptions. The only way of seriously solving it is if she gets her placed treated for bedbugs and possibly checking to see if she has schizophrenia (which another commenter had pointed out that she may be showing signs of) on top of bedbugs. If her leg is closer to the wall, it'd make more sense for bedbugs to go for the leg if it happens to show exposed skin (which it does due to "nightly routine" with the guy) as they'd only have to travel a shorter distance to get their fill.

Hi guys, toxicologist speaking here: If you have any doubt abut something like this happening to you, you can ask for a drug test by sampling your hairs. As drugs are potent by going through the blood flow to the nervous system, this can be retrievable as trace in hair samples, especially now that spectrometry have very powerful detection levels. What I mean by that is that a single dose of GHB from 2 years ago can be traced by almost any toxicology lab by doing hair sampling. Especially as girls tend to have longer hair so longer "memory" kept with it. And I am no lawyer but those results can absolutely be part of a file for a legal action, I was doing that all the time when working in forsenic toxicology. That may have sold the case right away. This looked like a case of bedbugs. Memory loss could be a product of poor sleep, I once remember walking while I hadn't slept for about 30 hours and found myself across the road, without any memory of how I crossed it (a busy road as well). This could get more severe the longer you get sleep deprived. Then there's the needle like marks on her and the fact that she remembers things fine in her boyfriend's house and not her house. Also she never mentioned how she could have been possibly dragged. Medication tastes bitter so she would have noticed ingesting it and she would find marks on her if it was injected onto her or she would remember some part of him doing it since she would try to fight him. Also a doctor can get in a lot of trouble if he steals medication and he can't just get medication that requires prescription without any reason. Also why would he do this to her ? She already mentioned that they would get drunk and have sex, all he had to do to get a similar feeling of handling someone drugged was to just let her drink and he himself pretend it. Also since bedbugs cause paranoia, it makes total sense that she would think he did it. To me the facts are clear, this is a case of bedbugs, I mean she even posted that she probably found them! Now for why she disappeared ? I would probably dumb my account if I ever wrote something similar for my boyfriend so he would never find it. Anyway, Merry Christmas and thanks for the video Cadaber!

Like, why would he still have sex with her every single time? I really hope that girl is okay and that she’s away from her bf. Assuming this story was real, it’s a shame Cadaber spent so much of the video entertaining what is, in my and many others opinions, an implausible if not impossible waste of time theory.

I've had bedbugs numerous times, a product of living in a ghetto ass apartment building. Plus I've had many neighbors with it. Memory loss has never been an issue, especially like this. It would have to be probably the most extreme reaction in history for someone to lose memory over a bit from them. I've had them about 4 times, each were for about a 6 month period, and exterminators didn't do much to help. All that happened was a big inconvenience when trying to sleep, the bumps, paranoia, etc. Sure is possible, but memory loss, absolutely not. I just can't see how that's even possible. She had to have been drugged, or something else, but definitely not the bedbugs.

I've had a bedbug problem since 2014 and they just never seem to go away. They are currently infesting 2 beds, 1 couch, 1 love seat, and 2 recliners. There's just a fuck ton of them. I've been bitten more than I can count throughout any given day. There's no escape unless I leave the house or avoid touching any furniture. There is a sense of paranoia I guess, but it's not to OP's extent in my experience. I've also never experienced memory loss as a result of one or multiple bedbug bites. I suspect her boyfriend may be doing something to her not only because of how unlikely bedbugs seem to me but also because of the dried semen on her chest. I find it highly unlikely that she (in a normal, cognitive state) would leave ejaculate on her chest and not clean up. I sincerely hope she's okay and healthy.

Bed bugs are NO fucking joke. I experienced them for the first time when I first moved to South Florida. Those little fuckers don't just bite you, they steal your sanity and rob you of your reason and logical deduction. They literally fuck with your mind. Even after the issue is solved, you find yourself waking up to every little thing that touches you, every little itch, every little poke. They literally make you lose your mind. It's definitely one of those things you have to live through to understand. My mother, who I had told about my experiences with them basically listened to me and yessed me to death.. Until she unwittingly moved into an apartment of her own that was infected with them. I used the word infected unironically. To make a long story short, she has never been the same since her experience with them. All three of us, her, my brother and myself have always had trouble sleeping, but that experience takes it to a whole new level. Especially like with in her case where the landlord refused to believe her or admit their existence in the house even after she showed him living specimens. They are literally Satan in insect form. Until I had my experience with them, I didn't think anything could be worse than mosquitoes. Oh, how very, very wrong I was. These things are worse than mosquitoes by several orders of magnitude and even that is putting it lightly. I don't think it's possible to exaggerate how absolutely awful bedbugs actually are. Waking up itching like you never have before and never will again, covered in red splotches like that of a heroin junkie in search of a vein. Truly, truly one of the most awful experiences I've ever lived through, and given some of the things I've survived, that is truly saying something.

I kept thinking the whole time that her situation sounds a bit like testimonies I’ve heard from people with DID. The scary bit is just the process of finding out and the concern of what’s happening- gaps in memory, driving to places while seemingly unconscious, and especially the fact that a trigger for the memory gaps seems to be sexual situations. The boyfriend is still kinda sus tho

Sounds like disassociation episodes to me. As someone who has had them, I can tell you this is pretty much how they are. She’s stressed. It triggered her disorder. The relationship was her safe space so she went to him during her episodes. Explains how she was acting weird but was still herself enough to fool her boyfriend, drive a car, have sex and even paranoia. Kinda surprised that this wasn’t even considered.

I'd agree with this theory. Possibly some other psychological issue(s), if not going through disassociative episodes. I feel like most are too focused on either the boyfriend or the bedbugs and not considering the Occam's Razor solution (the simplest explanation is often the solution) here of possible mental illness simply because of her potentially confirmation biased post title. I'd even go so far as to say that disassociation is more common than people assume

If you've ever gone through a bedbug infestation, you know that the psychological effects are from the nightmarish sanity-demolishing recurring hell that trying to eradicate it puts you through. It is so traumatizing. You never forget that smell of rotten raspberries. It's not a chemical process from being actually bitten. It sounds like she might have bedbugs, but that's not what is causing the symptoms. Ambien is well-known to cause stuff like this all the time. Everyone was way way way way way too hung up on the bedbugs.

The red bumps on her legs could in fact be injection sites where she was administered muscle shots of sedatives by her "doctor" boyfriend. The bed bug theory may have been something he put in her head as something he could blame the puncture marks on as to not give himself away. Also, fun fact: there is an incredibly similar story regarding a woman named Cindy who was divorced from her DOCTOR husband simply to be stalked, attacked, gaslit and eventually killed.

If I were in OP's shoes and I found out it was bedbugs all along, I'd feel ashamed for making such terrible assumptions about someone and making those assumptions public, even anonymously. I don't think I'd want to come back and tell everyone that that assumptions/allegations I'd made were so far from reality. A false rape allegation is one of the worst things that can happen to a man and if bedbugs were the culprit, he's lucky as hell that OP didn't give out his identity.

wheedler She already said flat-out that he was drugging her and she was waking up with dried semen on her. That’s as close as you can get to a rape accusation without directly saying you were raped. All a rape kit does is collect DNA, fibers, debris, etc. and doesn’t prove that a rape occurred. It shows that sex occurred and collects evidence of who the other party was. A rape kit won’t tell you whether the sex was forced or consensual. A rape kit won’t tell you if you were drugged or simply lost your memory due to some other factor. Leaving needle marks on her body and drawing attention to them would be an incredibly stupid move if they were evidence of a crime. BF is a doctor and would know how to make injections discreet. If OP thinks she’s being drugged, she can get lab work done. She’s been extremely open and upfront about everything involving the drugging/rape allegations, but a bit dodgy with the possibility of it being bedbugs.

This sounds to me like multiple personality or some kind of dissociative disorder more than drugs or bed bugs. However, the bed bugs causing paranoia would explain the evident paranoia the girl is having about her bf drugging her just because he’s a doctor and “he knows those things”. WHICH COULD BE POSSIBLE, don’t get me wrong, but the bed bug theory holds more weight. I still believe it’s a mental disorder situation.

I lived for months in a house infected by bed bugs when I was 18 and it was horrible- the paranoia is definitely real. I don't recall having any memory problems- but I constantly had insomnia and anxiety. BUT the bites were EVERYWHERE, they bit every single night, the idea she would only have bites on her thigh is strange- and if the boyfriend slept over there during that time he probably would have been bitten at some point, too, and since he clearly like, noticed them and is a doctor he would probably realize it. and those bites itch like HELL, they burn and itch so bad i would be in tears. I cant imagine her not mentioning it. dont know what she saw, it could have been bed bug debris, but I feel like she might have seen live ones at some point since its been weeks or months. I'm not entirely sold on the drug theory because it doesnt seem consistent with what I know about drug induced memory loss, but Im not sure how I feel about the bed bug theory either. maybe theres another kind of bug?

This brings me back to when I suffered with a bedbug infestation. The paranoia was real. Every sound and smell became something sinister to me, eventually I became too scared to even sleep in a bed and I ended up sleeping on the living room floor for years. Even though I cleaned out my bedroom many times, I was terrified, even breathing the air in there felt toxic, and I basically abandoned it for years (only going in to very quickly get something when absolutely necessary).

Psychiatrist here (do not take this post as a diagnosis or medical advice-I’m only going off the details presented in a general manner). Sounds to me more like first episode psychosis considering the paranoia has generalized to other aspects of her life (i.e. work) and the lack of concrete evidence suggesting that her boyfriend is actually doing anything to her. Based on the general details of her posts, OP is probably in her early-mid 20s which places her around the average age for the onset of schizophrenia in females. Although the bed bugs could certainly provoke paranoia in individuals attempting to try to go to sleep (or paranoia regarding being bitten again), OP describes symptoms more consistent with persecutory delusions (fixed false beliefs) that are completely unrelated to a bed bug infestation. This is not a known symptom of bed bug bites and see this as being unlikely. Additionally, if her boyfriend was regularly staying with her as suggested, it would be expected that he too would be experiencing bites, which he would assume fly be able to readily identify as this is a common skin condition that we are taught in medical school. As for her final post, it is very well possible that she did go to the hospital and explain her symptoms and was started on psychiatric treatment or admitted to inpatient hospitalization at that time.

You have obviously never actually HAD bedbugs. Saying that they could cause memory loss is like saying fleas or head lice bites could cause memory loss! She would have felt the red lumps and been scratching them before she even saw them. The are near impossible not to scratch, so itchy!! The bites would not be limited to one region of her body... AND bedbug bites turn up in groups of 3! "Breakfast lunch and dinner", as is said of them! They sit on you all night and suck blood from 3 different spots without moving far, usually in a line, every night! All of the symptoms you mention in relation to paranoia, insomnia etc are due to the insidious nature of bedbugs. They don't have anything in their bite that can make you get those symptoms... it is the sheer frustration of cleaning your room over and over and being unable to sleep because of the itchiness and anything that touches you in bed feels like one crawling on you, so you have to sit up to look, then search the area just in case... etc! Bed bugs DO drive you crazy but not at all in the way you are inferring. It could be worse if she didn't know she had them but they breed so fast she would have seen one after a few weeks.. they stink too a ... and the bites are unmistakable! Nothing like injection sites, they swell right up as you can't help scratching them in your sleep. It wasn't bedbugs! What she described could have been dirt. Why only along the wall side of the mattress? Bedbugs get all around the edges.. pluses they smell and blood exposes out of them if they get squashed! Nothing like chocolate. Also.. the boyfriend would have been covered in bites too! It wasn't bedbugs! Carbon monoxide or gas leak, maybe.
