What a story! Shame on those responsible, for prohibiting access to one who came from his home, to fight for OUR freedom. We visited Croft a few times during our Race Marshal days, More memories, thanks Dave and Cheers from the Med, DINO, PANDA and DINGOS.

As a Canadian, I had never heard of this hero’s actions before. It is a shame the statue is not accessible to the public. Thank you for sharing this heroic act of a Canadian I am proud to remember now. 😢😢

Hi, glad you liked it, there is another statue of him in his home town of Winnipeg. It shows him with the fire axe he used to try and rescue his friend. They were truly brave. Ride safe, Dave

A great story of a truly brave airman. It’s a bit of a disgrace that public access to his memorial is not easily accessible. Typical of our country. Great ride by the way, you ride the types of roads I love to ride.

Hi, glad you liked the ride, the roads and weather came together. I hope they will get access back asap when they finish whatever they are doing. Ride safe, Dave

Fantastic story which highlights the sacrifice made by these brave men for us today. Like many families my family fought in WW1 and 2 and now at 65 years of age l look at our government today and I'll say nothing 😢 Anyway, Great video, l love these types of videos.

The St George Hotel, which was the old officer's mess, is the location of the memorial. Sadly, the hotel is closed at the moment, and there's a big security fence around the whole thing.

I found the hotel, it was surrounded by a security fence and you cant get in. Fingers crossed one day they open it again. Ride safe, Dave
