The Royal Palace, Sikkim. Khamsum Silnon Phodrang..

The present day Palace of Sikkim is called Khamsum Silnon Phodrang and was actually a Royal Guest House built by the 10th Chogyal (King) Sidkyeong Tulku.
After the death of Sidkyeong Tulku, the structure was taken as residence by his brother Sir Tashi Namgyal, the 11th Chogyal, and the Last Chogyal Sir Palden Thondub Namgyal.

Beautifully spliced together. Brought back happy memories of a young child gorging on chocolate cake with warm cream at Palace functions. And the Chogyal handing out crackers at Christmas..the thrill of getting presents from under the tree in the corner of the Sitting Room. We used to find the gents' urinal a real oddity:)

I am so sorry for replying late. Yes of course tourists can enter the Royal Palace subject to proper discipline and maintenance of silence... Photography is allowed only in open spaces and not inside the monastery and the Palace compound...
