There are a few other modifications to those guns. Both have Wolff springs in them as well as aftermarket triggers. The trigger pulls being crisp and light is no accident. Along with the stainless ejector shrouds are ejector rods with the crescent moon finial. They are much easier to use at speed when reloading on the clock. The ends of the centerpins have also been shgortened to look more like the Colt. I put a lot of time and effort into making those guns competitive for your mom and I made the holsters for them because she was such a kind and gentle person I wanted her to have the prettiest holsters on every range she stepped on.

I just picked up two original matching Vaqueros in .45LC at my local pawnshop. Same finish as yours and the grips looks like the ones on yours just birdhead. I can’t think of the barrel length right off the top of my head, but the barrel length matches the length of the ejector rod. Pairs really well with my Henry Big Boy in the same caliber 😁👍🏻

I purchased a Vaquero in 1994. .45lc, 5.5" barrel, blued, walnut grips. It was sweet to shoot, had a good kick. I sold it about 15 years ago, and I kick myself now.

I carry my ,45 Vaquero with me on my ranch every day, as well as it is always with me while deer and elk hunting (Harvested a bear with it about 10 years ago.) I run mine at near .44 mag pressures with copper jacket bullets and H110 powder. Glad I was able to buy it before the New Vaqueros came out.

These are Ajax Staglite grips. They are out of production, but you might find a set on the internet.

I have question. I have Blackhawk .357 but I have been using .38 special not .38 special plus. I have not used .357 ammo. Sorry about your mom sir. But question is can I put .357 ammo in the Blackhawk now or just keep .38 special ammo?
