Actually, they’ve found some plants have emotions and can identity what they deem as a murderer. A lady in Japan has a cactus that can count. And they provide oxygen. So it’s either murder a plant or murder an animal. You’re damned either way. And eating meat is what evolved us past being just tall monkeys. Our guts became smaller because plants are harder to digest. So keep your backwards evolutionary trend. Not all biology is the same. A balanced diet is key, not an obligate diet. Get real. And while you’re at it, train wolves that they need to go vegan. Don’t worry, I’ll wait.

I have been on three mountain goat hunt in my life also and I just successfully filled my tag on Saturday with a nice big Billy on the Chugach Alaska mountain range also! I had sleepless nights anticipating my next days adventures with plenty of cramps, sore muscles, bruises and blood blisters. Just on Saturday October 10th I was finally successful with a Billy that was so easy to get to after all my grueling trips up and down mountains cliffs trudging through devil clubs and alders!!! It was amazing and I can’t wait to do it again! Oh... I am 60 year old woman who takes after my Grandmother who was a Mountain Goat Hunter also!

As much as I love the struggle as the next hunter- this hunt just seems like torture. One thing to go through this rough terrain but then on top of that having to go through the rough terrain just to get close enough to see that it's one that you can't/won't shoot. As much as I consider myself to be a "real hunter", Steve is at a level that I will never achieve.

We took a very similar route in the early 70s, but we went on the other side of the rock ridge going up and through the swale to the right before the alpine. We also saw a large golden eagle standing the ground that stood over 3 feet as he surveyed the valley to the left (north). When the snow is mostly gone it’s quite beautiful up in the alpine zones. Thanks for leaving the nanny. I’ve probably seen her a few times.
