You cant knock Chris and the team. Interest free credit, buying back tbe liners ect. Going the extra mile. Ive had Klim Latitude, Badlands and Kodiak 2. Struggled getting my new suit after trying on thousands and thousands of pounds worth of kit. The Nivala is a comfy suit but it has too much bells and whistles for my 7k miles per yer, mostly city too. The Kemi however, nailed it. Right price, Nivala comfort, looks good. Im over the moon with it. Nivala for high mile motorway riders and the Kemi just right for medium mileage. I wish they went two layer Goretex though.

As Always, great video. I've got the Nivala and it's the best suit I've owned by a long-shot. As a Blood Biker I've been called upon to ride through some appalling weather and have always been fully protected from the elements. Super suit.

Am I right in assuming this is called the Rapto-R in the Netherlands/Germany and possible other countries? Annoying how they use different names for the same product.
@MiGAngeIАй бұрын
Bought the shield-r last season (Kingsley) and have been quite comfortable and happy but I find the Rapto-r (Nivala) very enticing still. Where I live there isn’t a shop to try both. Grass will always be greener.

I ride all year round and have many jackets and have had many others and without doubt the Nival is the best water proof suit ever and the down 2 jacket the warmest

I’m happy to spend money on premium products Daytona boots ( made in Germany 🇩🇪) Arai & Shoei ( made in Japan 🇯🇵) but not Rukka made in China maybe in a sweat shop with child labour. At this price point I’m off to Hideout where they manufacture on site so you can have your jacket/trousers made to measure in a factory in Essex supporting British jobs 🇬🇧 I can’t tell you if my Hideout gear is perfectly waterproof as in adverse weather conditions I put on a waterproof over jacket as it keeps your expensive gear clean and dry.
@MotolegendsАй бұрын
@@ticthedog6095 Never understand the China thing. So much of what we use daily comes from China. You won’t get waterproofing guaranteed for life with Hideout, and their armour is not in the same league. Nor is comfort. I understand patriotism, but you would be trading down in many areas. CP
@CharlesFinlayАй бұрын
@@Motolegends Are you saying Hideout aren't telling the truth about slide times? I think (from memory 7 seconds vs 46 seconds) and comfort is as good as the Nivala. Good armour is great, but if the jacket disintegrates after a short slide, will the armour all stay in place like Hideouts? Appreciate you're a salesman Chris, but keep it honest, Hideout and BKS are better in every way, for similar money.
@ticthedog6095Ай бұрын
@@Motolegends Many thanks for the reply, I don’t think you will convince me that premium manufactures outsourcing to China is good thing. I’m more than happy with the fit and comfort of my Hideout textiles and I just can’t see how it’s a trade down from, as I said in my previous comment I always wear a waterproof over jacket in adverse conditions, something I’ve learnt from work with the military as a mountain leader. I think I’ll go back and rewatch John Milbanks test on motorcycle jeans, if I remember one of the products you sing the praises of were mentioned.

@@CharlesFinlay I've owned Hideout and Rukka’s top-of-the-range gear, and Hideout was a step up in comfort and protection. I sold my Rukka stuff but continue to wear Hideout.

Great video! Being honest, I think the Klim Kodiak 2.0 is a better buy at that price range! Both high end suits but the Klim done it for me when I compared the two!

Just curious why? More comfortable, softer material, better in wsrmer or colder weather...? Thanks

@@Motoscotty I’d be interested too. I’ve had both. The Kodiak collar is so annoying how it keeps unfastening so easily.

Safety ratings for one, the storm collar I felt was great and its detachable! The 2.0 is better than the first gen Kodiak.

What would you recommend as best 2 layer laminated jacket ?

Great video, just one point for viewers. I have an adventure bike and a sports bike, also the Nivala suit and a Navigator suit which is stiffer. I can ride the adventure bike with both suits but can only ride the sports bike with the Nivala, the other gear, including Klim is just too stiff so the Nivala, although high investment is a better all round value product, and no, it's never leaked once. I guess it is each riders choice in the end

Awesome video! One thing many people do not realize is, this isn't a purchase it's an investment. So do your research and choose wisely. Bulbous boots! 🤣 Too funny! Best!

In all honesty most people get 10 or 15 years use out of a quality suit and then they become very good value. My Yoko suit is a good example of this.

Not impressed with Rukka gear recently. I had a pair of (expensive!) gloves that a seam went on after a couple of months and Rukka's distributor wasn't interested... My old ArmaS jacket was nice ( apart from the silly plastic zip) but I much prefer my Stadler suit....

You could have sent back to Rukka for repair or replacement
@MotolegendsАй бұрын
Not necessarily the best result, I feel. There was a problem with the sleeve zips on early Nivalas. They didn’t have garages. You should have persisted, perhaps, but of course I do understand. Once bitten, twice shy, and all of that. CP

Mine has leaked in its first year, currently back being assessed but very disappointed as am now wearing my old rukka jacket, 8 yrs old with 60,000 miles on it which is dry apart from down the zip where the waterproofing has worn away

@ Just send it back to Gore. Much better than sending it to your dealer. It’s guaranteed to be waterproof for life, so ultimately there won’t be a problem. CP

@@Motolegends Ive just had notification that they will rewash and reproof the DWR process. They couldn’t find water ingress but could see evidence of it wetting out. Great turnaround from them. Honestly surprised that the jacket would perform like this after only 2 seasons.
