N0valyfe (Nova Life) has been around since before the Zezima days, but N0valyfe was only rank 1 for a little bit, The Old Nite was who Zezima overtook on the high scores back in early early 2006. Look more into The Old Nite, it's a very interesting story with some sad details.

Agreed. I was obsessed with watching Zezima and Old Nite trading places on the hi scores pushing to max. It was like every day they would leapfrog each other at 1 point. You’re right about it being sad. I knew he got a statue in Wildy but didn’t know they named the Ferox pub after him until now.

n0valyfe plays on and off on a rsc priv server I play on, occasionally chats in the discord. i remember he linked us to his blog site and it was like going through memory lane of 2002. good times

I’m old enough to remember Zezima and The Old Nite trading places in the top 3 every now and again, becoming the 2nd player to max after Zezima. Sadly he soon died in 2006, and was given a memorial statue in the wildy. Now the pub in ferox enclave is named after him too.

basically he was a adult that could play 14-16 hours a day, versus much of the player base which was years younger. In two years in runescape classics he made it to the top 5 and he started over a year later then all the other top players. The reason no one cares about the top players in osrs is because of the grand exchange, it leveled the playing field for people who wanted to max. Part of the alure of being a top player is being able to basically do all the content and not need other players. Heck im 2200+ on osrs. In runescape classics you need connections or clans or hoards of people working with you to max or lvl your account. Grand exchange is the reason we have so many maxed accounts on osrs at a clip of 60 thousand, this would not be as possible without the grand exchange. Zezmia in rs classics was the 4th person to get 99 smithing.

@@Rudgged ironman is the closet thing to ruenscape classics training and lvling. In rs classics i lvled everyskill i needed to do the quest and get supplies , because back then you needed to.

Zezima actually did stream for a little while some years ago. He never used a cam/mic though. His stream had a big flock of interest initially but it died down pretty quick as there is not much entertainment to be had in just watching a guy play :P Btw the player he overtook was N0valyfe

Bluerose13x was also a big name purely because he/she was the first 99 smither, making billions on r2h's, when you had to hold the coin button down to trade, so you would be stuck holding the coin button down for like 1 hour straight to transfer 100M.

I actually never wanted to find Zezima in game since already back then I knew how annoying it would be.. But you can bet that I still have him on my friendlist to this day, and I only ever sent him one message when he had public turned on saying that "Hey, I'm a big fan" and never messaged him again. Kinda wish he would make a comeback to osrs even if it's not the same game he used to play.

I think it was so much harder because nobody knew about it, the grand exchange wasnt a thing you know, the teleports werent as much. Like all the rings and necklaces and tele tabs to get places. You didnt have that kinda thing back then you know so yeah 6000 hours is fckn stupid i think and i will never do it lol but its alot easier than it was for sure i believe.

Lmao, bro. Ive had the same username and password login since 2002. I have over 2 bil on osrs and around 500 mil back in rs3, which i quit playing in 2007. Ive never gotten hacked. My password doesnt even have any numbers. I made it up when i was 9. If you got hacked, you probably did something stupid. For example, I lost my first account to the infamous "jagex censors your password" hack(lmao) before I made my current account. It was devastating. I lost full black with a mithril platebody.
