As usual, a wonderful and informative presentation. I have read that former world heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey was interested in managing Young Stribling's boxing career.

Imagine fighting a man that weighs over 100 pounds more than you

Clearly he was an American icon in his day, based on the amount of footage available for his era. His wholesomeness as a family man in Georgia plus his two controversial "losses" to Mike McTigue solidified him as the up-and-comer of his age. Set the knockout record at the time. What is not discussed in this video is that he traveled around the United States with his family and would fight pretty much anyone. He was like a circus act who would knock out any random person anywhere. That's how he got over 100 knockouts by age 24.
