The fact that ukraine went to the effort of putting a mechanism on their drones to drop a note with surrender instructions. That is an incredible thing to do shows their character, honour an decency towards an enemy that probably doesnt deserve it an would not give them the same in return is awesome. Things like this will keep the western support strong. Everyone in the west always supports the honourable fighters.

@@sweetvictory5643 POWs don't have to be sent back if they don't want to, or if it's known that it would be unsafe for them. The longer clip starts with him in a dugout on the side of the trench, watching one of his fellow Russian soldiers get grenades dropped on him from drones. The other soldier collapses right in front of his dugout after getting hit with shrapnel a second time, takes out a grenade, pulls the pin, and places it next to his head before suddenly turning into a fine red mist. I think he realized he didn't want to go out like that. He chose to live instead, and was very lucky that the Ukrainians gave him a way to safety.

I wonder how much asbestos remained in the older buildings. Those immense masses of smoke and dust are incredible, considering the tank rounds are 100 - 120 mm (?). Very much hoping here that Ukraine doesn't suffer the same fate of Iraqis from depleted uranium (DU) in armor-piercing shells. A depleted uranium shell that travels at 2,500 mph and hits armor a bit too thick to penetrate is gonna leave some amount of dust at impact. I don't recall uranium being considered a nutrient in any form. Speaking of biochemical hazards on a battlefield, I once worked on a team writing a proposal for work relevant to chemical warfare and best practices for disposal....... the supervisor was a PhD from Pakistan. I said somewhat jokingly "ya know, fly over spraying a mist of LSD and war's not just over, there's nothing anyone could do to get the fighting started again...... but a LOT of new friendships made........". Of course the weapons chemistry expert couldn't grasp such a concept...... HE responded with "oh, no....... we have chemicals that cause intense paranoia...... the enemy fighters just kill each other.......". Oh...... yeah....... that's obviously the better choice. Hawks all around.

@@EdwardJoshu4 I had a Vietnam Vet father-in-law. Fourth of July night and New Year's were hell for him. There are many Americans now in the Ukraine war.

SAY YOUR NAME SLOWLY... Non-Pols have no idea what you are saying.. I loved the Muse backing music. And "a drone" not "the drone" dropped the note. Drones with bombs do not carry a fallback note. Love TVP. Low DW (i can love two news sources) :-)

To be honest that Ukrainian forces made so much effort to avoid an unnecessary death shows that they have not lost their humanity. With all the reports of Ukrainian prisoners being murdered it would be very easy for Ukrainians to sink to the levels of the rabble they face. That they have not shows a high level of discipline and self belief.
