It took 2 YEARS for this kit to come to me I got paid back from amazon and then it showed up years later. I looked for it for 3 years before i found one i could.i buy. I drove a coupe and built it to look JUST LIKE MINE in high school $5 dollar drift missle. Yours came out AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I have a couple of hatchbacks ready to build now.

You got the AE86, i bought last week 6 Mercedes AMG GT,s from tamiya and the 3 Porsches in 1-12 scale and a Nissan GTR in 1-12 scale. You can never have enough of your favourite cars. I like to start also with wheatering and watch a lot of those video,s now, due to chemotherapy i don,t build, but spend my time watching and learning from guys like you.

Very nice. Good work. Only 1 suggestion. The front wheels with their disc brakes would be highly likely to have a great deal of brake dust grime inside. In late 1984, right after I bought a new 85 Honda Civic S (with a 3bbl carb, next year model, 86, was the 1st year of Si), my brother bought a new 85 Corolla GTS. To those in some other countries than USA, a Corolla Trueno hatchback. 4AGe engine with 5 speed manual. When the original tires were worn out, he installed a set of Enkei basket wheels in 15" with wide low profile tires. Just like the wheels you put on this model. The car was later stolen. Found 2 weeks later in another part of LA stripped and burned. With the insurance money he replaced it with a new AE92 FWD Corolla GTS.

This is also truer than all of the scale "restorations". Each time they buy a 1/24 whatever and then put it in the condition that he is doing with this and then say the found it that way and "restore it. As I always state, I would have liked to see the work to get it to the before stage, you actually get to see it here. This is like the 1/64 scale videos where someone takes a car of that scale and then turns it into something else. Like a Bentley that is turned into a six-wheeled monster. Or he takes a normal 1965 Mustang and then he turns it into a 1/64 scale tribute to Ken Block's Hoonicorn Mustang.

Nice to see this variant of the AE86 built up, because as you said the liftback is more common among the kit manufacturers. When I was growing up I saw more coupes than liftbacks, and my father owned a Cressida with a blue interior, so this is bringing back some memories for me. I also like your decision to do it as a beater in need of restoration. Any thoughts of doing a "before" and "after" build?

Without question this is amazing work and also without question you must build a version like this of the JUICEBOX AE86. The guy Neil from JUICEBOX has spent over 5 years trying to build his own dream AE86. The bodywork of his car has been in a similar state for years but is about to get painted. It would be amazing to see a model built of it in its current state.

Great job and a highly entertaining video. One thing I use for heavily rusted areas is to mix Tamiya putty with a small amount of glue or Enamel thinners and make a paste. I apply a very small amount where the rusted areas are, this can then be stippled giving a raised and bubbled look to the rust patch.
