Eric, Interesting insights. I am going to try your technique for splitting the tails and try using CDC for the wings. I normally use a fine rusty brown beaver dubbing which I prefer over high and dry. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.

Yeah, I like beaver dubbing too and don't have enough of it. I've done spinners with synthetic wings, hen wings, hackle tip wings, organza (sinks like a stone), Shane Stalcup's plastic stuff, you name it. For me, CDC blows them all way for flat water fishing. It has a magic, can't define it. The wings should angle up just a touch (10 degrees or so from flat) to make it visible. There's another trick to aid visibility which I'll show soon in another video. It helps with flotation too.

Eric it's Colin. that's interesting technique. I don't know if the biot makes a difference. It certainly makes a great fly
