I raised my tiny head up from grandma's patchwork quilt while gazing up at the moon and suddenly an angel sent from the stars sang a song and my heart grew warm and my eyes closed and I began to dream .

I just discovered Anna Tivel while listening to a Folk mix and she has inspired me to listen, to really listen to every word, sound and color in her majestic songwriting and performance. From wiki: she said in an interview "I'm drawn over and over to the small stories of people (myself included) just trying to get by, to do a little better, to feel some sort of beauty in an ugly world." Tivel's songs are often somber in tone as she has said that she "just [doesn't] trust happy songs as much".

There are whispers inside the veil that covers the edge of canyons unwanted and secrets reveled that touch the lips of singing birds without wings and nothing is lost upon the souls sacred ground and joy brings a smile to the thorns .made a crown .

It is a privilege to be the first to comment on Anna Tivel"s "Blue World" music video. Her latest collection of songs is titled, Small Believer. It is a continuation of a series of fine songs. I had the good fortune to recently see and hear her in person at the Fremont Abbey in Seattle. Her lyrics are always thoughtful, her melodies flow and her voice is sweet. Every song is a gift.
