The Ryobi Electric One + HP 16 inch Lawnmower Review - Is it worth buying?

Tried my new Ryobi 16" 18V lawnmower today. Grass thickish, a bit wet but not overly tall. First battery lasted 24 min and I finished with the second. Light, great cut, filled the catch 1.75 times. $299 at Home Depot. I love it.

I just bought this and it's perfect for my tiny lawn. I can finish my lawn in 15 mins with one battery still has 1 bar of power left. Now I'm buying the vacuum cleaner(tool only) because i have 2 batteries that came with the mower. I highly recommend this product for tiny lawns.

If you have that small of an area tomorrow you should’ve just gotten a small 12 inch mower. And for those of you who wants your mower last a long time get the 9.0 amp hour batteries

Bear in mind that the 9ah batteries retail for $160, almost half the price of the bare mower. I contemplated this but I won't have any other reason to use the battery except for the mower, and for that, it'd be a waste.

I would assume the brushless model of the one plus 18v mower would have more power because they can operate on 2 18v batteries. I am contemplating on the brushless for my bigger than average lawn.

Interesting, you're probably right. I find the 18v one has enough power. If the brushless is 36v, you'd half the battery life for that double power.

There's brushless 18v and a brushless 40v

I gave this one a try, but it doesn’t have the power to deal with my grass if there is any moisture, or length. I do use the Ryobi tools and weedwhacker which work great. I debated trying the 40V model but ended up with a Canadian Tire “certified” brand 17in wired. Works great for $145!

So I would have to charge battery after 20 minutes of mowing I have a fairly large area to mow would be about 50 minutes to mow.

So yes you're 100% correct. However, Ryobi makes a 9Ah battery and a 6Ah battery. With two of those you could do your lawn no problemo. Just a thought.

For a large yard I would get the ryobi 21 inch. My yard takes about 50 minutes to cut and the 21 inch does fine.

Mine has the bagger feature and it comes with the bag. Be advised that unlike most mowers, in order to use the mower without the bag, you must insert the mulching plug that essentially plugs the chute used to feed the bag.

Better check your math. Double is 1312 sq/ft. So two batteries would be 2624 s/f

Sorry then. I missed that. I caught him saying he cut 656 . And could cut double on a battery. He better check his math. He was off by a factor of 10. My hearing is bad from a lifetime of farm equipment and shooting. This constant ringing sucks. Again I'm sorry I got it wrong.

I thought that way two but now I have used my ryobi 21 inch for three years. No way I'm going back to gas. So much simpler now. I hate you think that way but I get it. I been in your shoes. I just hope you have the same revelation I had.

@@FalconWing1813 Yeah, I can hardly believe myself that I'm considering one of these. For years, I used gas powered blower/trimmer/mower because there was a ton of leaves, edging, and grass that needed taken care of at my old house. But when I moved to a new home with very little edging, and almost no leaves to clean up each fall, I quickly changed my tune. Sure the riding mower is gas powered, I have over 1/2 and acre. But jeez the lighter trimmer and blower made cleaning up afterwards a breeze. I'm now considering this electric mower to hit the spots where my riding mower can not hit. For larger jobs I recommend gas powered equipment. But it's so crazy to think I can zip around with the lighter tools and clear all the weeds and debris without the loud noise, heavy equipment, or mixing fuel and oil.

@@leechburglights Still got my electric mower. And its doing good! We live in a garden home so 45 minutes is what it takes to mow the yard. I always have power to spare on the batteries.
