I am going to switch off that option right now on my phone. My storage is also as important for me as RAM is. I have 8GB RAM phone. I have extended it upto 12GB using storage space but I don't see any performance change so yeah, pretty useless feature.

Every operating system uses your storage to offload some of the ram usage no matter how much ram you have. On windows it's called page files on Linux it's swap files or swap partitions, and if you're familiar with custom ROMs you would know that most phones already had a feature like this on the back end called zRAM. Enabling this "feature" although is useless for most people will not result it any more extra wear and tear on the storage.

What he said is true, but it is a lot more nuanced. There are factors like pagination etc. while storing data in a ROM. Larger the ROM larger the fetch time and the slower it is to load it into ram. V-Ram makes this a tad bit faster by allocating a section of memory for use as a V RAM. Since this space is fixed, the fetch starts directly at this memory address. What happens behind the scenes is that once you no longer have space for apps on the table, android puts the unused apps in the shelf and loads the new one on the table.(In theory the one in the shelf is still persisting the state of the app instead of closing it entirely). This is slightly better than having no VRAM. Having said all this, companies should not merge them together as they are not same.

I can truly confirm this as my father gifted my mom VIVO y16 from offline market, for which I was unhappy as I was thinking to give Moto g13. When my father asked about the phone I talked about the RAM and he proudly said it is 6 gb, At that time I remained silent for not to hurt him but it was actually 3+3gb ram. Btw Vivo's phone are gorgeous 🥰 and mine was no different but they should be more ethical.

It's not completely useless. The virtual memory is being marketed wrong but it's actually pretty necessary. It helps us store the save state of an app for easy operation. In pc terms, it's called Paging memory. Sometimes one doesn't need fast memory while using the ram, imagine just saving the state of WhatsApp that you left it at before minimising it. So yuh, it's not exactly ethical to market paging memory as more ram but it's kinda necessary.

@@Mystrio0606 Paging memory is not Ram, it is basically dinamially allocated Rom space dedicated for the ram to dump everything it doesn't need all the time. Clock speed of the paging memory will be equivalent to the max read write speed of your storage memory.

Virtual ram only beneficial when Memory also fast storage type like UFS. Another condition is software to hardware optimisation. SoC also very important factor

आदरणीय प्रधानमंत्री, भारत सरकार, नई दिल्ली, विषय - भारत में नए राज्य बनाने हेतु और राज्य पुनर्गठन आयोग बनाने हेतु, महोदय, भारत में काफी सालों से अलग और नए राज्य बनाने हेतु मांग चल रही है । कई राज्यों की मांग तो आजादी से पहले अंग्रेजों के समय से चल रही है और कई राज्यों की मांग देश की आजादी के बाद से चल रही है । लेकिन इतना संघर्ष करने के बाद भी पिछली सरकारों ने अभी तक काफी कम नए राज्य बनाएं है । जो भारत के राज्यों की जनसंख्या और क्षेत्रफल को देखते हुए ना के बराबर है । भारत के काफी राज्य जनसंख्या और क्षेत्रफल में विश्व के कई देशों से बड़े हैं । भारत के काफी राज्य जनसंख्या और क्षेत्रफल में इतने बड़े हैं कि अगर आने वाले समय में इन राज्यों ने अलग देश की मांग कर ली और यूनाइटेड नेशन में अपनी बात रख ली, तो इनको अलग देश घोषित करना पड़ेगा । इन सब खतरों को देखते हुए भारत में नए राज्य और छोटे राज्य बनाने बहुत जरूरी है । भारत के काफी राज्य विकास की दृष्टि से काफी पिछड़ गए हैं । काफी राज्य बड़े होने के कारण इन राज्यों के लोग अपनी भाषा, संस्कृति, खानपान और पहनावे को बचा नहीं पा रहे हैं । कुछ राज्य क्षेत्रफल के आधार पर, कुछ राज्य जनसंख्या के आधार पर बहुत बड़े हैं । भारत की जनसंख्या लगातार बढ़ रही है लेकिन जनसंख्यावृद्धि को देखते हुए इंडिया के प्रशासनिक ढांचा में कोई सुधार नहीं हुआ है, ना ही वह बढा है । अब जनसंख्या के आधार पर भारत में नए राज्यों की बहुत ज्यादा जरूरत है, ताकि हमारे देश का प्रशासनिक ढांचा सुधर सके । जब देश आजाद हुआ था, उसके बाद से खाली 5 नए राज्य बने हैं । बड़े राज्य और बड़ी जनसंख्या होने के कारण देश का विकास भी नहीं हो रहा है और प्रशासन हर जगह पर पहुंच नहीं पा रहा है । और इंडिया में जो भी छोटे राज्य हैं उनकी जीडीपी पर कैपिटा, एचडीआई सबसे अच्छा है, उदाहरण के तौर पर हरियाणा, केरला, उत्तराखंड और जो बड़े राज्य हैं क्षेत्रफल में और जनसंख्या में उनका जीडीपी पर कैपिटा और एचडीआई सबसे कम है । अमेरिका की जनसंख्या 33 करोड़ है लेकिन वहां पर 50 राज्य हैं, जर्मनी की जनसंख्या 8 करोड़ है, लेकिन वहां पर 16 राज्य हैं, जापान की जनसंख्या 12 करोड़ है, लेकिन वहां पर 45 राज्य हैं और भारत की जनसंख्या 140 करोड़ है लेकिन भारत में 28 राज्य है । इसलिए भारत में भी नए राज्य बनाए जाए । इंडिया में स्थाई रूप से राज्य पुनर्गठन आयोग बनाया जाए और इसका डिपार्टमेंट भी बनाया जाए । इसलिए केंद्र सरकार से निवेदन है कि भारत में राज्य पुनर्गठन आयोग बनाएं और भारत में नए राज्य बनाएं । भारत में पूर्वांचल, पश्चिमांचल, बुंदेलखंड, विदर्भ, मिथिला, कौशल, सौराष्ट्र, गोरखालैंड, टिपरालैंड, तुलुनाडु, मरूप्रदेश, भीलप्रदेश, बोडो़लैंड, विंध्यप्रदेश, मराठवाड़ा, करुनाडु, रायलसीमा, कोंगूनाडु, मत्स्यप्रदेश, महाकौशल, अवधप्रदेश, मालवा, खानदेश, कोंकण इन सभी राज्यों की काफी लंबे समय से बनाने की मांग चल रही है । इन क्षेत्रों के नागरिकों ने काफी आंदोलन, धरना, प्रदर्शन किए हैं । इसलिए इन क्षेत्रों के नागरिकों की मांग को पूरा करके इनको राज्य बनाया जाए । केंद्र सरकार से निवेदन है कि भारत में उत्तर प्रदेश में पूर्वांचल, पश्चिमांचल, बुंदेलखंड, अवधप्रदेश, महाराष्ट्र में विदर्भ, मराठवाड़ा, खानदेश, कोंकण, राजस्थान में मरूप्रदेश, भीलप्रदेश, मत्स्यप्रदेश, बिहार में मिथिला, उड़ीसा में कौशल, गुजरात में सौराष्ट्र, मध्यप्रदेश में विंध्यप्रदेश, महाकौशल, मालवा, पश्चिम बंगाल में गोरखालैंड, आसाम में बोडोलैंड, त्रिपुरा में टिपरालैंड, आंध्र प्रदेश में रायलसीमा, कर्नाटक में तुलुनाड, करुनाडु, तमिलनाडु में कोंगूनाडु राज्यों का निर्माण किया जाए । #राज्य_पुनर्गठन_आयोग_बनाओ #भारत_में_नए_राज्य_बनाओ #पूर्वांचल #पश्चिमांचल #बुंदेलखंड #विदर्भ #मिथिला #कौशल #सौराष्ट्र #गोरखालैंड #टिपरालैंड #तुलुनाडु #मरूप्रदेश #भीलप्रदेश #बोडो़लैंड #विंध्यप्रदेश #मराठवाड़ा #करुनाडु #रायलसीमा #कोंगूनाडु #मत्स्यप्रदेश #महाकौशल #अवधप्रदेश #मालवा #खानदेश #कोंकण भवदीय

Storage Device main jo file hota hai uska ek copy RAM pe load hota hai . Processor ko num khali betha nhi sakte isi liye Ram faster access ho sakta hai . Jahan kuch limited amount of storage reh ta hai . Ek register 1 bit capacity ka hota hai . Register isi liye kyun ki semiconductor devices main register ko fast consider kiya jata hai. Cache memory bi Ram le jitna fast hai . Uska kaam v isi prakar ka hai , ek kaam main jo cheez repeatedly use hota hai uss cheez ko cache memory store karta hai jaab uss cheez ka zarurat padta hai to turant CPU access leta hai.
