I actually met Gary Busey in person this is before the motorcycle accident we were at a movie premier and he was standing in the lobby smoking a big cigar and yes this was before restrictions on smoking indoors. as I approached him to ask him for an autograph I tripped and fell to the ground. with him not knowing that I was disabled he grabbed me with one hand and pick me up from the ground and he said oh I’m sorry buddy sorry about my big feet. And then he asked me if I was OK and I told him yes I was and thank you for the autograph. he was a super nice man. that is something that I will never forget.👍💯❤️

Coincidentally, at the time of his motorcycle accident there was a lobby for mandatory helmets while riding motorcycles. Busey was a very vocal advocate of "no helmets" and after the accident ended up being the poster boy for the helmet law as well as being one of their most verbal advocates!

Also hearing someone explain a motorcycle crash who clearly has never ridden a motorcycle is cringe. “Pumping the rear brake, went flying over the handlebar” uhhh that’s not what happens when you “pump the rear break.” Slamming the rear break will cause the rear tire to lock up inducing a rear slide, something pretty controllable. I’m assuming he smashed the front brake while trying to turn, which would indeed lock if the front causing the bikes rear end to want to flip itself on the front tire, acting as an articulating point for the momentum carried.
