The kente estate should be a money making business just like the big estates in Europe open their estates to the public for historical tours and souvenirs of the family. The movie ROOTS opened the pathway for the diaspora to search our roots back to Africa and made billions and is still making money from movies and books. This is a big deal. Wealthy African Americans including former president Barack Obama, should head a fundraiser to help open up this estate as a great cultural wonder in The Gambia. MAYA our African History is to be preserved, told and experienced through places and people in every country for every generation to grasp and get an understanding of who we are! It helps people to have a great sense of direction and pride of who you are. Why should Africa history be just a paragraph, or chapter in a book taught in schools. A child from 6 - 12 should experience that journey of their ancestry in their mind to make a lasting connection. It should also be connected with culture and community actives. The Guide is so passionate about history. You can feel the passion in his entire being. He seem to be carrying the weight of our heritage on him. It is heart breaking. We have an African saying were I am from that says "if you do not know where you are from! You won't know where you are going". That's why we have a generation of lost people. They can not perform productively because you do not know who you are and what you are made of. God bless you for showing light on the importance of the preservation of AFRICAN HISTORY. #africatotheworld🌍

I use to say ur Africa to the world movement would be wake up call for u to the state of Africa and Africans, and it was a wake-up call, but for the better, this experience has made you a better person intellectually. Your more wiser and more witty on your surroundings and more humble to your history. I remember when u said you didn't wanna get involved with all the politics and history. Now you know that they are an integral part to the state we are in. You cannot talk about Africa without talking about the history that was and politics that's fucking us up now. But I salute your personal growth, I use to cringe when you didn't know how to behave around Candice. You lack etiquette a bit, but now your wiser humble and witty.

Wode Maya, My question is ; what is the government doing with your tour guide ? This man have the qualities of holding a post in the government. Historically he is perfect, his English is one of the best, he is an intelligent man and can change the country if he is giving the chance. I think it's good for him to try in politics, he can change many things in the Gambia, his voice is powerful. God bless you and Maya for the good work.

Can I just say, this guide of yours has a good radio voice. This guy should be a reporter or a TV persona of some sort. His voice really carries and sounds commanding.
