Excellent! Tremendously informative. I would add that for the majority of the world’s people (peasants) most of these “sad” aspects were for city folk. Until the Industrial Revolution, the poor, the slaves and the ones who tilled the fields had more clean air and a more natural habitat than anyone today. My granddaughter, a medical doctor, admits that what are called “diseases of civilization” like polio, can result from excess bathing. Washing away immunities is a real sad condition, but our “experts” have led us down that rabbit hole not only as regards our bodies, but also our minds and morals suffer from upper class practice “trickling down” to us common folk. Politicians like Bill Clinton and Trump, et al, are the sad result of moral hygiene at its most public urinating and “dumping” ever. In 1892 the horse dropping in New York overwhelmed city services. Dead horses could lie in the street all day. The street stank. Physicians in the 19th Century wore pus covered coats (to show how busy they were) and did not wash their hands. Instead of the “sad” story of hygiene, you can talk about the ONGOING story if human beings who are now buried in filth - even when they bathe, bathe, bathe! Also, the factor of microdosing that creates immunity. I was neglected and dirty as a child - and the healthiest kid ever, mostly. But you gave me an overview I really appreciate. Thanks again.
