While we’re talking about Skylanders, I have an idea for a game mode for Skylanders. Not a game gimmick or anything, just a fun challenge, like Kaos mode or something. Basically, you need to choose the following - 1 core Skylander - 1 Giant Skylander - 2 Swap Force Skylanders - 1 Trap Master - 1 Supercharger and vehicle - 1 Imaginator or Sensi - And 1 magic item to use once per level It’s called Portal Wars Basically, you can only switch out between the Skylanders you have chosen. Each round/level, the challenge will get harder and harder, basically it’s going from Hard mode to Nightmare mode, it’s meant to be really tricky and tense. Each level/round will have an iconic boss from a previous Skylanders game and a wave of Enemies. So for example, Wolfgang from Trap Team, Mesmerelda from Swap Force, basically any boss from the Skylanders games you can imagine. And yes, that includes the 3DS bosses. Each Level/Round will also include 3 stages. Stage one will be fighting regular enemies that get stronger and stronger, stage two will be fighting dark versions of your Skylanders like in Spyros Adventure, and the final stage will be going against a boss, to get to each stage, you’ll need to use a Supercharger vehicle or do a Swap Zone based off the swappers you have. Now here’s when things get spicy. Every time a Skylander dies, not only can you not use that Skylander again for the rest of the challenge unless you beat the challenge or decide on to quit and start again, the death of that Skylander will duplicate the enemies strength. So please be careful! But don’t worry, you’ll be given companions to help boost up your strength, health, powers etc. Some of these companions will include Flynn, Cali, Hugo, Tessa, Buzz, Mags, Sharpfin, Avril, and basically beloved NPCs from the previous games. This mode is about strategy, knowing which Skylanders and Magic items are the best ones to use, and this is basically an in-between point of Hard mode and Nightmare mode, so the difficulty spike will be a lot more noticeable. The final level is fight Kaos going back and forth between his Spyros Adventure boss, Giants boss, Swap Force boss, Trap Team boss, Superchargers boss, and Imaginators boss, while being powered by the Darkness, who you will also have to fight during the boss. The NPCs will talk to you and there will be areas to explore to find health items or gold to spend to get more powers etc like a normal level, but this is basically about using your mind and strategically knowing what choices to make and what not to do. How does everyone think of this idea? It’s an early concept I have and this is why I have planned as of right now so things may get changed or added in, I’m not sure yet.

5:09 These are likely placeholders. Sometimes when developing a game the developers will pull assets from their previous games as a reference, but they will be changed for the final verison. So this port could be built off of Imaginators and a couple of older games.But this is just a theory, as Imaginators already bad a Switch port, and they could of grabbed the assets from there. Do I believe the leak? It's probably fake, but seeing how Crash and Spyro got remastered, and there is some interest in bringing Skylanders back, a remaster of some sort wouldn't be too crazy. It makes sense to port the 3 most popular games first.

Better idea- Port the games and make all characters playable without a portal, but have it as a setting that you can disable. Rundown- You buy game digitally (since physical copies are going out of style slowly and no one will be looking for it in stores), open game into main menu and there's a setting like "Enable Legacy Mode" or something, which switches the game to needing a portal connected to work. In Legacy Mode all figures have an additional power that you can purchase from Persephone, and you can use figures from past games. Now you still can't use tree rex in SSA (to keep SSA as much SSA as possible) but you can use same tree rex in SF. Also there can be a listing for like a starter pack on Amazon or the company website with a portal, Spyro (S1), Tree Rex, Blast Zone, and Wash Buckler. You can use old portals on new ports and- you get the idea. I feel like this is a pretty solid idea, does need refining but for what it is- it ain't bad.

My guess -if it ever comes out- is a remake of the franchise following closely to the original but tweaking a lot of the mechanics. If the figures were ever introduced again, the scale might be smaller OR they go the card route (though that'd make way less money). Also the same or less IP's appearances.

I almost had hope for the grand new future of Skylanders but I was also sussy at the time. When person 3 was ported to steam, They could have selected the oringal version, Portable version (Which is more of an novel like game outside of the dugenons BUT also have an spilt timeline where you could play as the female character) or Fes version (Which only had one timeline, and not being able to controll your team actions BUT It has an epilog semester & it would have been super easy to enable the controll your team actions) So it is possible that Skylanders used the "non definated" version due to having an easier access to it.

Yooka-Laylee had white button prompts in the Nintendo Switch version, which were carryovers from the canceled Wii U version of the game. Oddly, Impossible Lair kept the white buttons instead of changing them to black. In Addition, Crash N.Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled also had white button prompts, but Spyro Reignited Trilogy had black button prompts.

If they make a new Skylanders game, it should be a hybrid of all the previous games. All levels should include the following; Elemental Gate Feat Of Strength Swap Zone Trappable Villain Traptanium Car Zone Sense Gong Aswell as other gimmicks for the hub; Heroic challenges Skaletone showdowns Fishing areas Hidden Levels like the rat kingdom from Imaginators They should also add some things in lore wise; Cali finally admitting her love to Flynn Buzz and Flynn becoming father and son Tuck and Gorm meeting Persehpone and Auric Maybe some other miscellaneous things too; Whiskers having chicks (This could be the basis for a level) As for the playable characters, they should definitely have guest stars like in Superchargers and Imaginators. Imagine playing as the heavy weapons guy or the spy in Skylanders. Epic

I like the idea, but a game with all games with better graphics is just too much to remake I think and they would probably do it like you say. Also it would take some time to think and add the feature with Skylanders being unlockable, because what if you have all of them unlocked. Can you use them in other safe file’s? Thats the hard part also what do you do with the old Skylanders lets say spyros adventure and giants are in a collection. Then of course you still have the one from the other game or maybe not, but I think they could. The other problem is if older skylanders will be available in the newer collection lets say, because they can be used in the game, but I think there is a way to fix those issues I think they could make you choose if you only want to use skylanders from that game or from the older ones too.

I agree with this, the whole “Leak” thing is so sketchy it feels like the chances of it being real are close to zero. But what I’m most annoyed by is everyone’s reactions to it, everyone is just blowing this out of the water, getting way too hyped for it, and are setting themselves up for disappointment and failure. And then when it gets proved that the “leak” is fake, they’re gonna start blaming all the people who weren’t falling for the fake leak. it'd be nice to see skylanders return. but its an ambitious thought and i know it. and at this point i can accept the skylanders series for what it is nowadays. even without a rumor of a new remastering of the original trilogy on the way. its important to remember that not all leaks or rumors may be truthful or legitimate. but maybe it can be wise to keep up with them on the sidelines. not following or falling for them. but keeping a watchful eye if the legends reveal to be true or false. sooner or later.

Honestly, I'd love a Skylanders remaster series, where it's like the first 3 or 4 games kinda like the HD remasters of the Ratchet and Clank games. But instead of having a portal to put characters on, you unlock characters in the games by progressing and doing different challenges in the levels. This would act as an incentive to both play through games in their entirety and give tons of replay value, but also doesn't alienate players who never had a huge collection of Skylanders to begin with. Hell maybe even just release an updated physical set for modern consoles that does the whole series, that way we can go to actual stores instead of having to trawl Ebay and Amazon or any other websites in order to get the right game version and also the corresponding portal. It'd be compatible with everything Skylanders had, including traps.

It is a good idea though. Make it f2p, put in online mode so you can play with friends wherever. Sell the characters as DLC. (sadly MTX is the only way I see this thing surviving as a multiplayer game)

Huh, that first comment reminds me of my first experience with Skylanders. My mom won some contest, not sure what it was (I was so young at the time, but she might remember? I highly doubt it, though.) and I got to own the first game on the Wii, along with a large handfull of Skylanders, quite a while before release. I thought nothing of it as a kid of course, just treated it as any other game I'd get. But now that I'm older and look back on it... that's kind of a weird thing to do isn't it?? It wasn't like a review copy, though I recall whoever gave my mom the copy wanted my thoughts on the game at some point. Not sure if there was an NDA, we didn't have that much access to the internet at the time, and I had 0 access to the internet myself, so I at least wasn't told anything about an NDA. Just weird how it was ""obtained"" similar to what happened with me. I would have almost believed it... until I saw the pictures! Lol! Those are pitiful.

im not a big skylanders fan, it was always at most just something i liked as a kid without actually playing the games but honestly if something like that did release I would definitely try it out. i dont have the time or money to be collecting a ton of figures for some toys to life game, so honestly if they went down the smash brothers path like with amiibo where the game is completely playable without the figures, and you can unlock characters just ingame I would love that. Bonus points if they also still keep the toys to life functionality, just making it optional
