I saw it that way for a while, but then I began seeing hiccup in with villains. Drago because of the missing arm and taking control of the dragons. We'll Hiccup is missing a leg, and while Stoick showed no signs of ever controlling the dragons, hiccup tames them but could have done it for the wrong reasons like Drago And I see Grimmel a parralel with Stoick if Stoick continued killing dragons since Grimmel has a similar view on dragons as past Stoick

The scene where the light fury locks her tootsies with Toothless and falls into the darkness is inspired by the courtship flight of bald eagles, called death spiral. The birds fly high up, lock their talons, and then do a spinning free fall towards the ground. If it fails and the birds can't control their fall and separate their talons, they might hit the ground and die, but if it's a success they've found a partner for life :)

They actually caused me to pursue MORE tearjerker movies (which I'd NEVER wanted to do before!).
