I got an excellent education by bud tenders and long time users know even more, which bud tenders usually are. However, more research into delivery systems as well as finding out more specifically which strains are best for specific conditions would really help. Cannabis saved my life. It helped me get off of opioids, sedatives, antidepressants, and alcohol. I will always be greatful for what this plant has done for me.

It’s irresponsible to say cannabis has no negative effects, but I hate how stigmatized it is in regards to mental health treatment. I have very severe anxiety that was treatment resistant. Before I found cannabis I wasn’t functioning period even with therapy and actual psych meds. After using cannabis in conjunction with professional counseling (This is key. It’s not a lifelong solution) I’ve actually been making significant progress. I will come off cannabis after working through my baggage one goal at a time. It might take years but in my opinion it’s no different than using antidepressants for the same purpose. I’ve just found, and everybody is different, that I get less negative effects and more positive ones with cannabis.

@Jude Saddler I just don’t see greening out as an overdose, and I’ve certainly gone too deep with dabs or edibles my fair share of times. It’s just a slight uncomfortable/paranoia feeling until you eventually fall asleep. It’s nothing like an overdose in my opinion. I guess I could see the argument that by taking enough to have slightly negative effects you “over-dose,” but the word overdose just has certain connotations that I don’t think we should associate with cannabis. Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree

Do you know what a pharmacy technician is and educational requirements to become one? In my view there should be a pharmacist counterpart in every dispensary and their support staff should be the counterpart to a pharmacy technician. Everyone employed in a dispensary should be required to certify in some manner.

Here in Rhode Island the budtenders have just started to get proper training. However, 99% of “medical” patients don’t ask the budtender for their opinion on products. It’s impossible to know exactly what a strain is going to do to you unless you try it yourself, and they aren’t required to be medical patients themselves to work as budtenders.

Some guy I know who grows charts everything. Air temp/humidity/water temp/water ppm and pH(same with soil if used)/direction of wind/width of his anus/etc etc. He developes models based on all his data. There are a few words tho that you will never hear from him concerning his craft; STRAIN, INDICA, SATIVA. You come around his parts talking all that jazz you be laughed at

@@jamesstpatrick8493 exactly my train of thought back when I posted this comment. It’s ridiculous that you have to be trained properly for pouring alcohol but not for serving weed. I’m not saying alcohol is better than weed (obviously it’s not) but they are both 21 and older drugs and should be treated equally. Nowadays proper training is mandatory in RI but it’s still not a requirement to be a medical patient. Our state just legalized recreational cannabis so I guess medical card shouldn’t be necessary but anybody working in the cannabis industry should have decent training.

If you decarboxylated the oils within, yes. Need to heat it to approximately 245 Fahrenheit for maybe around 30 minutes in order to activate the psychotropic effects.
