That crashing train they showed was not due to bad tracks but to over speeding by the engineer on a curve. FYI

Yup, quite - 79 people were killed by a driver who had been boasting about how fast he could take his trains and hit this curve at over double the 80kph speed limit. He was jailed for 2 1/2 years as a result of this crash.

We have these in America. It’s called a “Defect Detector” And it is used for the same thing but uses flaps and axle count and temperature of the wheels going over it. The flaps are for “Dragging Equipment” if hit. When the train first hits it. It sends a transmission of the “Owner of Railroad” “Milepost of line” and “Track Number”. When the train is done going over it, it calculates the amount of axles. Then the transmission on the radio will repeat everything I said above ⬆️ but Usually it says “No defects” twice. Then it will end the transmission. That’s our system of alerts on railroads.

More often than not, it's an automatic detection. Most defects are too subtle for human eye

"since the introduction of this device, electric trains have missed maintenance schedules less frequently" - well that's probably just better planning. Still that's a good invention, because even when you don't miss the maintenance schedule defects could appear between them and thanks to this device discovered sooner ✌️
@MrBenzcdi9 күн бұрын
Yeah, good call. Error detection and scheduling are unrelated topics.

Not all electric trains run at high speeds there's alot of Electric cummuter AKA Regional trains out there. Although electric trains due tend to probably have better accelration and higher speeds then Disel Trains but sometimes there not faster then disel trains just got better accel.

Nah it’s real, many systems are in place around the world that scan trains at high speed to determine whether they are allowed to continue their journey. Tom Scott did a good video on the Gothard Base Tunnel, and showed off its high speed train scanning camera system.
