Was this where Rowland S. Howard got it from? Got some of it from, anyway?

Possibly...

@@charlesdeason1646 Thanks. Listen to "Messin' With The Kid", and then listen to the Young Charlatans' version of "Shivers" (see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnbImGCApriCa8U). I always hear a similarity. I'm not saying that Rowland ripped off the Saints, or anything, merely that he was inspired by them. I think that there were a lot of young Australian punk-rockers who owed a lot to the Saints; Nick Cave was one of them, I know for sure. A photograph exists - see here: a1000mistakes.wordpress.com/2017/01/26/playlist-when-the-saints-joined-the-bad-seeds/ - of a very young Nick Cave (looking awfully unformed and goofy) in the audience at a Saints concert. I wonder if Rowland was there too...

Supposedly The Saints got it from the Rolling Stones' 'Sway' It also kind of sounds like 'Lord Can You Hear Me?' by Spacemen 3.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gX25m3VtiK5sgaM&ab_channel=SpaceAgeRecordings
